I can not decide.
I have so many story ideas, I can not decide if that's a good thing or not. Well, it has to be a good idea as I need my creative juices to constantly be flowing, but then I can not finish one story fully without "Oh that is a good idea" coming through. That then makes it "not a good thing."
But I just need to keep letting it all flow. I will get there I am sure. Sometimes a short flash fiction or one a little longer will come and that is fine but the longer ones - well, I suppose they do take time!
I have discovered I can write poetry very easily. I can think of something on the spot, novel ideas can be the same but I have to remember it needs fleshing out, it needs meat, something the reader will want to read and keep reading. A reader wants to digest what they read, like a nice tasty meal. It needs to be readable and enjoyable and praise worthy.
Which reminds me of something. In the work place there is a saying "Would I buy it?" well if it looks good quality then yes, and that made me think of writing "Would I read it?."
Now I know, that everyone has their favorite genres but I still think it applys. If I wouldn't read it, why would anyone else? That to me, sets a bar. A bar that needs to be remembered when writing.
Also confidence. A friend spoke, well wrote actually, about having confidence as a writer, and yes I belive that is correct. If you don't believe in what you write, or yourself as a writer, then what is the point in even hoping that others will want to know?!
A number of people have told me this week that I am gifted at writing. And I find that a nice big piece of humble pie. But when I thought about it, I thought "Yes, maybe I just am that" I do not say that being big-headed on the contrary, I take the piss out myself. But I do believe I can write. And I just want to share my belief and gift with others.
I try to constantly write, even if it's a proverb of some sort, I input just about everyday on Opuss, a great App if you can get it. And I try to enter stuff onto Wikinut as much as I can. Both different places but great for growing in writing.
I put things on Facebook and twitter. All in the name of writing.
I, like others, have found what I am good at in life. Namely, music and writing, both creative art forms, Both I enjoy. I have never been a great speaker, and I am not afraid or ashamed to admit that, but when I write or sing and play my guitar, that is where I shine, that is where you meet me. That is my special place, my holy ground, if you like.
I also am still waiting to hear from the publishers and competition entries, once I know, so
will you!

Adam, I have found, if we (creative folks) are not able to express our art (what ever it may be) then we are never really happy inside and ill content for sure. I think you are very creative, keep up the good work. As always, thank you for sharing.:)
