A short review of the Glee Live Tour show at the o2, London!
The Cost
Being the organised person that I am, I didn't actually buy my tickets when they were first released in the box office, instead I brought them two days before the concert and picked them up at the o2 box office when we arrived! This had its advantages and it's disadvantages. The advantages been that:
a) I didn't have to get up and be perched over the computer desperately racing to get tickets at 9 in the morning (I'm 18, mornings+me= disaster)
b) I could chose what tickets I wanted (out of the ones for sale anyway!).
c) After a lot of begging, I finally persuaded my mum to take me as an end of exams treat. It may seem 'uncool' to go with a parent, but when you have a mum who isn't happy unless she is pretty much sitting on the stage, it means that you get the good seats!
In the end we got tickets in the second row at the front which was AMAZING! The price was okay, it was £100 per ticket (plus the million I spent after I went slightly crazy on merchandise!) There were two tickets left in the front row which obviously would have been better, but the price went up to £350 per ticket, which as we found out would have been a complete waste of money because our view was just as good! And I'm only small!
Demographic Of People
I have to say I was quite surprised by the general demographic of people there. I thought, hmm okay, a show about teenage pregnancy, homosexuality and relationships aired on E4 at 9:00 in the evening, it's going to be packed with people my age. To some degree I was right as there were a lot of other people my age there, however there were also a lot of young children, which made me think, have parents seen the show? I feel so old saying this, but is it really acceptable for a seven or eight year old to watch a group of scarcely dressed dancers running around on stage, or to watch the programme and watch a performance full of err, thrusting? To 'Push It' by the Black Eyed Peas.
On the other end of the scale there were a lot of adults there- without children, and surprisingly especially men (So have no fear dad's who are been dragged to the concert!).
Supporting Act
The support act was the legion of extraordinary dancers, an American dance troop. Admittedly, at the start of the act I was slightly confused about what was happening and the storyline, but after a few minutes of a man spinning round on his head I was well and truly impressed!
There was a mixture of dancing, from ballet to street, to a man in a karate costume back flipping across the stage at the rate of knots! A great act to warm the audience up!
The Actual Concert
It was by far, by no means of the exaggeration, absolutely brilliant! I'll admit that I am not exactly a 'hardcore' gleek, I watch the show most of the time and I like the majority of the songs, but after last night I'm now a fully turned Gleek with two t-shirts and a big foam finger to prove it!
I can firmly attest that the actors can actually, unlike many other shows, sing! The full cast minus, Mr Schuester und Sue were there. even the Warblers, or as my mum called them 'the Gumbears' made an appearance.
The layout of the concert was good and involved some direct interaction with the audience, including the cast walking through the aisles (Blaine, played by Darren Criss even touched my hand!).
You are introduced to the cast by videos of Matthew Morrison introducing Glee club on the massive screens. Then for the next hour the Glee club and the Warblers sing and dance their hearts out. The cast deserve an abundance of praise as, considering they are screen actors, they were excellent stage performers.
My favourite character of the night had to be Brittany as she asked someone 'Are you British?' 'Can you speak?' 'I'm sorry I just love the English accent!' She seemed to be the central character in the concert, even more than Rachel, which I was slightly surprised at.
The singing sounded almost identical to that on the show and really proved that they are a very talented group. Plus I must say, the boys in the show look a lot better in reality, so if you think Chord Overstreet is fit in the show, go to see him live, it will blow you away!
Basically it was an amazing night, I would highly recommend it. If anyone wants to know any more about it leave me a comment and I'll answer it as soon as possible!

Glad to hear that you had such a great time, but those ticket prices are pretty extortionate, even if it was a great show..No wonder people can't afford to go and see so many shows nowadays... Glad that you enjoyed so much, and this is a nice review, Christina..

I am so glad y'all had a blast. My daughter would have loved to be there, she watches that show all the time. Nice read. Thank you for sharing.:)
