Check out the box office results for the weekend of December 12th, 2010. The top three films were The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, The Tourist and Tangled.
Box Office Results December 12 – The Chronicles of Narnia, The Tourist and Tangled
Another competitive box office weekend is in the books as we ramp up for the holiday weeks ahead. Owning the almighty box office dollar this weekend was The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader which was the third film in the Narnia series. Although Disney produced the first two Narnia films, Fox has taken over the franchise and handed the directing duties to Michael Apted. With the new leadership, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader made just over $24 million in the three opening weekend days. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is expected to slow a bit with Disney's highly anticipated Tron: Legacy being released this weekend.
The Tourist starring Johnny Depp and Angelina Jolie used its star power to grab hold of the second place position at the box office this weekend. The Tourist opened as expected bringing in $16.5 million during the opening three day weekend. Although the star power brought moviegoers out to see the film for the opening weekend, the reviews and storyline might not be enough to keep the movie’s box office momentum going.
Families just keep coming out to see Disney's Tangled starring the voices of Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi. Just wrapping up its third weekend, Tangled added $14.3 million to their pile of cash bringing the three week total to $115.4 million. Look for Tangled to continue to perform well over the following weeks with both the positive reviews and holiday family time attributing to its continued momentum.

i promised my kids to watch the Narnia tommorow. maybe then i'll find out if it really is agood movie. have watch the first two sequel and its great.
