How many child actors can any one remember playing a role on a daytime soap opera from the time they were young children and still playing them as an adult? I can only remember two: Kristen Alderson (Starr Manning, One Life to Live) and Kimberly McCullough (Robin Scorpio-Drake, General Hospital).
Kristen Alderson had played the role of Starr Manning on the ABC Daytime Drama, One Life to Live, since March 20, 1998. She was put on contract for the role in April 2001, making her the youngest actor to get a contract role on daytime television. She received a Soap Opera Digest Award for Favorite Teen for her work in OLTL in 2005. She experienced her first on-screen kiss when Starr kissed Travis, (Connor Paolo).
Kristen's most memorable role was when Starr became pregnant after one night of unprotected sex with teen boyfriend, Cole Thornhart (Brandon Buddy) when both thought Starr's father, Todd Manning (Trevor St. John) was moving the family to Hawaii. Starr at first decided to put her baby up for adoption and asked family friend, Marcy McBain (Kathy Brier), to adopt her baby, who agreed. But a baby-switch with Starr's daughter, Hope, and Starr's cousin, Jessica Buchanan's (Bree Williamson), still-born daughter, Chloe, Starr was able to get her daughter, Hope, back after Marcy decided it was best for Starr to raise the little girl after Marcy saw Starr's heartbreak when Starr kept her promise to let Marcy adopt her baby.
Kimberly McCullough has played the role of Robin Scorpio on ABC's daytime drama, General Hospital, since age 7 from 1985-1996, 1997-1998, 2000, and 2004. Since October 2005, she came back to General Hospital as a doctor who studied in Paris and is currently still playing. She was also one of the leads on the General Hospital spin-off, General Hospital: Night Shift.
Her most memorable role was when Robin contracted HIV from unprotected sex with boyfriend Stone who unknowingly became infected with the virus and later passed on. She has since married Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson), son of Dr. Noah Drake (Rick Springfield), where Robin was successfully get pregnant and deliver a healthy baby girl for which Robin and Patrick named Emma.

This is very interesting although I have to confess that soap operas are a waste of time in my opinion.

I do have to say I remember these two when they were just very young kids. You don't hear all the mess you do with a lot of other actors that have been child stars. I say good for them. Nice read.
