This is about the movie Cobra Verde made by Werner Herzog and starring Klaus Kinski..it goes from Brazil to Africa and back with some interesting pics and video and my take on the movie....enjoy

Cobra Verde(Slave Coast) is a 1987 German drama film based upon Bruce Chatwin's 1980 novel, The Viceroy of Ouidah. The film depicts the life of a fictional slave trader named Francisco Manoel da Silva (known as 'Cobra Verde') who is played by the prolific German actor Klaus Kinski. Directed by Werner Herzog, Cobra Verde was an ambitious project, with filming locations in Brazil, Colombia and Ghana.

Searching for Gold

over the ground wiggles the snake

The pig twitches his testicles as flies gather there between his legs
And down rock filled paths the bandit walks heavy bags upon his back
Whilst ragged men shake they the pans filled with gold dust hidden there they hope to find
Poor scurrilous men they be forgotten by the ones who once loved them when off they went to search for gold.

The wooden barrel rolls over the rough ground as if pushed by unseen hands
and the snake it wiggles noiselessly

many all there for him

People flee around the market place when the green Bandit comes into view
He walks to the fountain and drinks from his hand glaring earnestly at the simpletons as they run from him
The old deserted building once a church now is his home and stares he at the fertile
countryside.
A swaying carriage held by bearers black as night they are moves across his vision and the bandit calls out Hey, hey, hey!
The bearers they take flight and out of the curtained carriage steps a beautiful shapely girl...seductively she sways across the golden ears of corn
She dances fragile light as a bird
He waits on the cracked steps till come to him she did
And then they rolled upon the ground their bodies intertwined

Off to Africa went he

The bandit and his slaves

Then did the bandit become the overseer for the owner of many sugar plantations in Brazil
His plantation home surrounded by green and flowering plants but sweetest of all his children were all girls
Whilst in fields the sugar cane grew tall
And on the porch the girls they giggled mint juleps they did drink and gave him to sip
The girls they mocked him and he did walk away

And soon the bandit had he impregnated all the daughters one by one
Mad was the father mad was he but found a way to send the bandit
Off to deepest Africa to what he thought would be his death

In an old citadel Cobra Verde made his home and found he did ways to enslave the people of this land and send them back to Brazil
Rich he grew beyond his wildest dream and never would he wear shoes

Captured and beaten was He

Bound and thrown on the ground

Trusting no one did he nor shoes would wear
But soon was captured by the Viceroy of Ouidah
And bound was he like a monkey and lashed till red stripes covered his back
Blood seeping out
People gathered round looked on not caring a spectacle to be enjoyed by them

The eagle soars high in the sky over deserted land
Cracked earth bare trees all listlessly dead
The man with yellow hair crouches he before a wooden cross and prays for rain.

Bathed in wondrous light were they foretelling the coming day never could it come the sun to bring to life a powerful force of warmth and light and rain upon the land
The Green Bandits adventures took him far and wide across the sea where he did become the leader of an army of Amazons and fought they did and won and thus the story ends....

Of course you can get the movie yourself or watch it on Netflix...you might have a completely different take to this one
and so be it!!!!!
