Coca Cola, otherwise widely known as Coke, is a hugely popular brand worldwide. As a carbonated soft drink, it is the worlds best seller. It is reported that 12,000 bottles a second are sold worldwide, that is 37843200000 bottles a year, that's a lot of Coke.
What is Coke?
Classic Coke is just one of about 500 products manufactured by The Coca Cola Company. It used to have cocaine as a ingredient, but was removed in 1903. As a carbonated soft drink, it is the worlds best seller. It is reported that 12,000 bottles a second are sold worldwide, that is 37843200000 bottles a year, that's a lot of Coke.
It's unmistakeable taste is unique, using a secret ingredient that no other manufacturer has been able to reproduce despite trying. It is best served chilled or over ice, the coolness enhances the already amazing taste.
Nutritional Facts
If you are going to drink Coca Cola Classic (Coke Original), then you should be aware of it's nutritional value. It is fat free, but very high in sugar, weighing in at a massive 42 calories per 100mls. That makes the average can about 160 calories, or a 500ml bottle at over 200 calories per serving.
Consuming large quantities of Coke can have negative health effects. It can cause weight gain and damage to your teeth due to it's very high sugar levels. It also contains caffeine at about 32mg per can, which is 96mg per litre. This isn't as high as the average caffeine in tea and coffee, which contains about 75mg per mug of tea, and 100mg per mug of coffee. However, you should be aware of the amount of caffeine you consume every day as too much is very unhealthy.
My own feelings about Coke.
It is served as a mixer for many alcoholic drinks and is favoured by many. Diet Coke is often used as a substitute, but Classic is the only one for many. I've tried nearly every Coke type that the company makes, especially when I wanted to lose weight and I switched to Diet Coke with Lime. However, I always return to Coke Classic as there is no other drink so satisfying.
Whether it's a can from a vending machine, a glass from a soda fountain at a restaurant, or straight from my own refrigerator, there's nothing that matches the taste of original Coke Classic.
