The walking dead social game on Facebook
The iconic, spine tingling theme music of from the hit TV series is what got me hooked when I started playing the walking dead social game on Facebook. It was fun, you make your character, you find weapons, you go on missions and you kill zombies. 10 minutes later fun's over.
The walking dead game is an over head strategy game where you and the zombies take turns deciding where on the map you want to go. As you progress through the game you can increase your ability to see further, take longer steps per turn and kill zombies more efficiently. The problem is, you run out of dead points so fast forcing you to either wait the eternal 5:00 minutes before you can make another action.
I get it. Everyone wants to make money and as someone who understands marketing I see where they are going with it but I fear it may work against them because, while the game is fun, it's not worth having to continually buy dead points. The game will eventually alienate the majority of users who refuse to pay and will basically only allow them to play a few scenes. Which might be a good thing for some!
