"Harry Potter or HP as some may call it, is the seven-part series of the British author, JK Rowling. The series had been shown in the big screen for almost 10 years where each film had earned millions on the first day of its premier. It is where one film after the next, fans of all races are left breath-taken and amazed as a year or so of their childhood leaps out of the yard once more."
A review on Harry potter.
Who does not know Harry Potter?
If there is still someone out there who does not know him and his adventures in the Wizarding World then that one person had been lost for ten years.
Harry Potter or HP as some may call it, is the seven-part series of the British author, JK Rowling. The series had been shown in the big screen for almost 10 years where each film had earned millions on the first day of its premier. It is where one film after the next, fans of all races are left breath-taken and amazed as a year or so of their childhood leaps out of the yard once more.
Harry Potter, the series, tells the magical tale of Harry Potter, a half –blood, born to parents who fight for the freedom of the Wizarding World against Lord Voldemort. Harry lost his parents to the dark wizard, Lord Voldemort who intends to kill him because of a prophecy – the prophecy of which told him that a boy will end his reign as the “Dark Lord”. Sure enough, when he was about to kill Harry, the spell rebounded leaving Harry with a lighning-like a scar on his forehead.
All eight movies, the seventh which was split into two, were starred by Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, and Emma Watson as Harry, Ron, and Hermione respectively. In the trio’s (Harry, Ron and Hermione) seven-year stay at the Hogwarts School of Wizardry, the t here have been through mischief – madness throughout the whole Harry Potter series.
Released on the 18th of November 2010, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1 raked in $330M on its opening weekend, and when its sequel, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 hit the big screen last July 13, 2011, it grossed $483.2M on its opening weekend, sweeping the earnings of its prequel by $153.2M or around 46%.
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2, the eighth and final movie of the fantasy series, begin as Lord Voldemort finds the Elder Wand in the tomb of the greatest wizard that ever lived, Albus Dumbledore. The magical trio continues to search and destroy the remaining horcruxes, made by Lord Voldemort. A hocrux is an omnipotent object in which a Dark Wizard or with has hidden a fragment of his or her soul for the purpose of attaining immortality. Thus, by creating horcruxes, Lord Voldemort wishes to gain immortality
Unfortunately for the Dark Lord, the Magical Trio destroyed his horcruxes hidden in the magical world. Therefore, Voldemort weakens by the hour and the only thing, or let’s say animal, that could protect him is his snake, Nagini. Nagini is later killed by Neville Longbottom, played by Matthew Lewis, as he takes out the sword of Gryffindor from the Hogwart’s Sorting Hat.
The film ends with the epilogue. Harry Potter, then, marries Ginny Weasley while the dog-cat fight of Ron and Hermione turns into a romantic scenery when they, too, get married. Finally, Harry gives encouraging words to his son, Albus Severus Potter, saying that whatever house he gets sorted into, it is up to him to mold it into greatness.
No matter how much each movie earned, how many copies of the series sold, and how far the legacy of Harry Potter goes, all we know is that we owe our ten magical years of childhood to the genius the started it all, JK Rowling.
Harry Potter will stay in our hearts, always.
