The new wave-Microwave.
Modern cooking has improved through the innovation of microwave cooking technology. This technique uses small or micro waves that are transmitted in the same manner as the ones used for radio, television, satellite transmissions. Initially the microwave technology was useful in heating food. The food heated in a microwave was quicker and within a few seconds a steaming hot plate was ready before you. Now the modern version has enabled a great number of features and increased capacity. Microwave ovens come with the defrosting features, auto cook, convection, combination cooking, grill and barbeque along with language choice, weight and timing buttons.
This enables fast cooking of vegetables and fish. Plain heating to make the food hot before consumption is immediate and within seconds. Microwave cooking is efficient as it saves times and the food nutrients are intact making them tasty. There is less drying of the surfaces of the food cooked. This feature requires specific power from 10% to 100% depending on the food to be cooked. The defrosting feature requires less power to defrost the ice crystals on the meat, chicken or fish.
This feature applies the traditional oven technology and bakes food accordingly. This requires preheating.
Combination cooking utilizes the microwave technique with convection. In this feature the heat is generated in the same manner so the food surface is browned and cooked at the same time. This method use for browning burgers,nuggets,sausages and toasting.
it is very easy to grill food items like chicken, fish, make shish tawook and the like very easily. The grilled items can be cooked quickly and taste delicious too. Here the microwave oven works as a conventional grill. If there is provision for a rotisserie then chicken and other foods can be barbequed on rotating skewer.
Cooking in a microwave.
Make pasta in the Microwave oven
2 cups penne pasta cooked
2-3 tbspn tomato paste
2 tspn olive oil.
Salt to taste
dash of pepper
dash of basil
dash of rosemary
1and1/2 cup mozzarella cheese
few sprigs of parsley chopped for garnish.
Cook the pasta properly in water and few drops of olive oil. Drain the water and keep aside. Wash the pasta under cold water to prevent sticking. Pour little olive oil and mix. Put the tomato paste in the pasta and mix properly. Add the pepper, salt, basil, rosemary. Mix again.
Take microwave plate. Pour oil on the base and spread it. Put the pasta mixture in it. Pour the drained water in which pasta was cooked on it. Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on it and garnish with parsley.
Put the plate in the microwave and cook till the cheese melts usually 8 minutes
on auto cook.
