My First Week on Wikinut!

A rundown of what Wikinut is, and the experience of my first week on the site.
What's a Wikinut?
Wikinut is a magical place where creativity and imagination come together. People from all walks of life can come here and express their views, experiences, and interests through the written word.
A bountiful keg of knowledge and imagination, Wikinut sits ready to be tapped for readers and writers of all types.
Wikinut also pays writers by views. If you enjoy writing and you do it anyways. Why not get paid to do it? You may never make enough for a living, but I don't think anyone is going to argue with extra income.
The Wikinut experience from the eyes of a newbie.
I stumbled upon Wikinut after joining a writer's group on Facebook. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised by the wide variety of articles. The willingness of other writers to offer feedback and aid has already proven invaluable.
I've read a great many articles, and this marks my eighth page. I'm still pretty fresh, but my knowledge of social networks, formatting, and conveyance of emotion have all benefited greatly. I've learned a variety of interesting information from the origins of the name Smith to what flash fiction is, with an amazing demonstration.
A large majority of my own writing is very dark. At times, I feel a need to unwind with a solid laugh. Laughter is the best medicine, indeed.
As you can see, not only has Wikinut aided my writing, but it has also provided me with education, insight, stress relief, and it pays.
In the end...
In a short week. I have learned, laughed, almost cried, and got paid to do what I do anyways, write. More than any of that, I have met some fantastic writers that are more than willing to aid me in my craft, and I take pride in calling many of them friends.
I have genuinely enjoyed my time on Wikinut, and I am thankful for my chance introduction. I'm not just a writer on Wikinut, I'm a fan. I read the content daily, and I share in the experience.
Thank you to all the writers of Wikinut; new, old, past, present, and future. Your passion for the literary arts has served me greatly. I can only hope to return the favor through my work.

A minor correction - wikinut does not pay by views, it pays according to how many reads the advertisements on your pages get. Silas John, in less than a week you have garnered a star page. It took me over two months to get a star page. Congratulations, and again, a hearty welcome to the wikinut family.

Wikinut is an interesting community. I joined wikinut on 27/09/12 and by 01/10/12 I have had a star page to my credit. Still writing and published only 4 of my writings. Love this community the inmates are very jovial......

I'm a newbie too just starting this past week. How about that? I still have unanswered questions but eventually I'll get them, lol. Good write up here and joining with the other wikinuts in congratulating you on your first week, first star page. I want that and an ad too. lol. JK. It takes time, sometimes I know. Great page and bravo on your star. Nice of you to share links to other's works here, too. Glad you joined us Wikinutters. I did not know about the page view thing Steve pointed out! Wondered why with all my page views I've still not made any income. Hmmnn....

first of all welcome to wikinut silas, good to see another inspiring and interesting here at wikinut.
Secondly thnks alot for following and sharing, ur writing was as pure as it could be and i sensed it!

Welcome to Wikinut. I look forward to reading the work you will share with us. I am now in the middle of a computer meltdown of sorts, so bare with me. I will get to your pages soon as I work it all out. When I found this site, I knew I was home. We have the best group of writers out in internetland, I am sure you can tell. when I first started a little over a year ago, I was astonished by the quality of work that this site has to offer and it has yet to disappoint. Yeah this one has gotten quite a few comments. It's VERY encouraging. NaNoWriMo has taken up the majority of my time, but coming back to see all these comments was certainly a pleasant surprise. I enjoyed your poems on disease. I hope you enjoy my work as well.

I truly admire your honesty and candid comments -- signs of wonderful people.
However, I disagree with your "ego" statement. It is a desire to share one's knowledge and skills with others which is perfectly healthy. Now switching sides, what is wrong with pampering "ego" once in a while?
You and your ideas are real assets wherever you share.
