Problem Encountered at Ziddu.com. Back Up Your Stored Files!

Many social sites offer to store for you your documents, audio and video files. If you are like me, you do it for freeing hard disk memory purposes and upload all your files there. But think twice or at least take precautions first. Learn from my sour experience.
A whole album has been deleted together with some other files, and no undo.
The only moment which came close in disappointment to the one felt today about ziddu.com was back in 2005, when I found my netscape.net inbox empty of all the most important messages in my life, messages which carried the story of how my last marriage developed. That time I felt as if I have undergone an amputation without even having an anesthetic. Those who have me in their messengrs' contact list can witness that I used to be a very satisfied and happy ziddu.com customer, to the extent that I ignored any other company with similar services and always shared my files via ziddu.com. I had many files uploaded there. I had many pictures in several albums. One day I needed one of the pictures stored there and, to my unpleasant surprise, the whole album has been deleted together with some others. Being so fond of ziddu, inspite of the viruses and bugs that come through pop-ups and pop-unders, I even
suspected that I accidentally operated the deletion my self in one of those zombie nights (half awaken and trying desperately to finish what I have in hand to do, and half asleep) About losing those picture it wasn't a big deal. I could recover them anytime by downloading the pictures again from my e-mails. The biggest tragedy is when there is no undo, no recovery solution.
As you know I am Romanian, but I live in Egypt. I wasn't supposed to bring my PC with me here in Egypt. Many files were left in my PC, not knowing at the time of the departure that I would be needing them here. So I did some teamview wth my sister, as she is using my computer now, just before she installed another version of windows. YOu don't have to be a computer expert to know that once you replace the windows all that you had in drive C is history, gets lost in transition. Knowing that, I took all what I needed, my sister didn't make any back up of those files. So here we come, to the bitter story. All that I took via team viewer from my PC was stored on ziddu.com. Now I have zero files of those, nada. So please please please never do the same mistake. It is nothing wrong sharing your precious files with other sites, but BACK THEM UP FIRST. Put them on a CD, or where ever you see it fit, but don't put all your eggs in one basket. When I count my loss I include now the precious time I spent to upload those so many files.
Peoplestring.com is the most reliable and has many other advantages (like you get paid for everything you do online) , but there is also a big bunch of sites out there willing to store your files. If you want my referral link just request and you will receive it. Be safe out there !

This is an interesting article! I am really wondering about the safety and privacy of our files if we save them in such social site! Are they be safe and how about the privacy? Thanks deat Boema for sharing!!
