Review of Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals

Colgate is a brand name of an oral hygiene product line, which is owned by Colgate-Palmolive Company that was set in 1806 in New York City. Colgate now sells its products in over 200 countries and has a wide range of toothpastes, toothbrushes and mouthwashes. The one I’m writing about is Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals, a new dimension of whiteness toothpaste from Colgate.

Packaging:

Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals comes in a sparkly silver box, which is covered with Colgate's classical red strip and white logo as well as twinkling white flakes. It is noticeable that the words 'Max White with micro-crystals' are on every face of the box except one. Obviously Colgate are differentiating this variety from others and made it as the selling point.

The silver tube is collapsible and made of plastic and foil that is used by most toothpastes at the moment. The toothpaste is light green liquid with silver crystal bubbles inside the tube.

There are some ingredients clue and directions for use on one face of the box and the tube too.

Main Ingredients:

Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals is formulated with Sodium Fluoride to 1450 parts per million of fluoride, same as Colgate Total Professional Weekly Clean.

The main ingredients are Hydrated silica, which is a form of silicon dioxide and is the transparent abrasive used in gel toothpastes, and in the clear parts of striped toothpaste; Tetrasodium Pyrophosphate, also known as Anti-tartar, that helps prevent the formation of calcified plaque; PEG-12, that is added to prevent bacteria from breaking down pyrophosphates; The micro crystals use extra whitening ingredients that gently polish teeth to remove and prevent stains as well to ensure gums are healthy and teeth are white and stain free.

Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals comes in a variation on mint flavour. For children younger than 6 years of age it’s only used a pea-sized amount to minimize swallowing.

Price and Availability:

In the UK you can buy Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals from many outlets including Sainsbury’s, Tesco, Boots, Amazon just to name a few. You will find prices vary considerably. As a guide the current price at Sainsbury’s is £1.50 for 100ml.

My opinion:

I would like to say I love this toothpaste. I have been using Colgate toothpastes for many years, I’m still very impressed with this new ‘Max White’ one. Before I suffered from the unpleasant smell of toothpaste and thought I would never get rid of the feeling. Surprisingly Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals doesn’t give me any uncomfortable feeling. When I brush my teeth I feel the freshness of mint in my mouth. After I have used it I can see my teeth are very clean. Also I feel my breath fresher and the feeling can last for long time until I start eating again.

Colgate said Max White with White Micro-Crystals toothpaste contains a high-cleaning silica ingredient that delivers whitening benefits by removing surface stains. It is infused with hundreds of white micro-crystals that dissolve as you brush. I would like to believe this toothpaste does have some ingredients that are useful to whiten my teeth, but I’m not naïve enough to expect a miracle to happen in daily brushing with any toothpaste to be honest.

I think there's very little difference between most branded toothpastes in the market, but for some reason different customers do have different experiences with them. I’m pleased that I found Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals, that is just right for me.

All in all I’m very satisfied with the performance of this toothpaste. I definitely would buy Colgate Max White with White Micro-Crystals again.

At last I would be happy to introduce you to an electrical toothbrush. For more details please visit my article on Wikinut.
