The Request

My request account termination has been ignored. I am very frustrated with Wikinut. Apparently Wikinut has ignored my request to terminate my account. Therefore, I submit this article for publication.

Termination of my Account

Wikinut's policy in 'Terms of Use' titled 'Account Handling.' is unjust and unacceptable.

I quote the 'Account Handling' section of Wikinut 'Terms of Use'

"Account Handling

We do not charge Authors, Moderators or Referrers any fees for registering an account on the Website. Nor do We charge any fees for regular users of the Website.

However, your Wikinut account will be deemed to be inactive if you do not login to your Wikinut account in any continuous period of 365 days. Once your Wikinut account is deemed to be inactive, you agree to pay Us a monthly service fee of £0.50 (or the then applicable fee) or currency equivalent (or the current balance of your Wikinut account, if less) so long as a balance remains.

You authorise Us to debit this fee from your Wikinut account on the first day of the month following the day on which your Wikinut account is deemed inactive, and on the first day of every subsequent month that your Wikinut account remains inactive, until your Wikinut account becomes active again or the balance of your Wikinut account is nil."

Wikinut's refusal to terminate my account compounds this injustice. Unfortunately, this results in my mistrust of Wikinut.

TERMINATE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY

I have absolutely no interest in publishing articles on Wikinut.

I asked Wikinut support to terminate my account on June 14 2012. My account is still active. TERMINATE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

I emailed Wikinut support stating that I want my account terminated. My account is still active. TERMINATE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

Yesterday I wrote to the Chief Nut, as he calls himself, asking him to terminate my account. TERMINATE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

This is becoming very frustrating. I want my account terminated immediately.
TERMINATE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY.

I fully expect an email from Wikinut confirming the termination of my account. The absence of such an action will only increase my mistrust of Wikinut.

TERMINATE MY ACCOUNT IMMEDIATELY..

I have read the terms, John, and you are misquoting the as Bronnamdi has pointed out. To refresh your memory as to the truth, I have copied and pasted them here: "However, your Wikinut account will be deemed to be inactive if you do not login to your Wikinut account in any continuous period of 365 days. Once your Wikinut account is deemed to be inactive, you agree to pay Us a monthly service fee of £0.50 (or the then applicable fee) or currency equivalent (or the current balance of your Wikinut account, if less) so long as a balance remains.

You authorise Us to debit this fee from your Wikinut account on the first day of the month following the day on which your Wikinut account is deemed inactive, and on the first day of every subsequent month that your Wikinut account remains inactive, until your Wikinut account becomes active again or the balance of your Wikinut account is nil. " Paypal was never mentioned in that passage from Wikinuts "Terms of Use".

Do not reword them to meet your needs, John. That is called lying. You have nothing in your Wikinut account, so walk away. Ride off into the sunset never to be heard from again.

John, what you have quoted above is different from what you are explaining. Wikinut says they will charge your wikinut account, you say they will charge your paypal account. Who is wrong here?

Much as I will want wikinut to close your account, I will also prefer that you say what is correct.

I quote wikinut which you also quoted above "Once your Wikinut account is deemed to be inactive, you agree to pay Us a monthly service fee of £0.50 (or the then applicable fee) or currency equivalent (or the current balance of your Wikinut account, if less) so long as a balance remains.

Thank you for explaining Wikinut's terms of service. Perhaps this explanation should be given to all members of Wikinut so this unfortunate misinterpretation won't happen again.

I sincerely apologize for my misinterpretation.

After 365 days of inactivity, you will automatically be terminated. And you won't have to pay anyything, unless you make money..

I feel for you not getting a response. I signed up for wikinut last week and never received the email to verify my email. I have requested the email to verify my email more than 20 times and nothing. I have 3 articles sitting in unreveiwed. Your article was very good and good luck getting a response from anyone.
