The Verses of Love, a romantic, tragedy, when a woman have to save her husband's life, but for that she has to sacrifice her own love
Introduction
Ayat-Ayat Cinta is a film directed by Hanung Bramantyo Indonesia, starring Nuril Fedi, Rianti Cartwright, Carissa Putri, Zaskia Adya Mecca, and Melanie Putria. This film is a religious movie adaptation of a best seller novel El Shirazy Habiburrahman masterpiece entitled Verses of Love, and do the first premiered in 2008. A film which was released in 2008, tells us about the meaning of a sacrifice of love. It is a love story. But it is not just about the usual love story. It's about how to deal with issues downs of living by Islam. Tells the story of an Indonesian student, Fahri bin Abdillah, who studied at Al Azhar University, Egypt. Survived as a translator of religious books. All targets Fahri lived with enthusiasm except one: to get married.
Why? Because Fahri is a devout man who was so 'straight'. He knows no dating before marriage. He is less articulate when dealing with a creature called woman. Perhaps the reader who comes from Europe will be confused. Were there more men like this Fahri? In Indonesia, there are many Islamic boarding schools, which is where most students do not know the word dating before marriage. This can be understood because in Islam are not allowed to date before marriage, as stated in the Qur'an as a guide of life.
Fahri lived on the 1st floor of a flat in Egypt along with three male friends. Fahri has a neighbor on the 3rd floor flat, an Egyptian girl named Maria. Mary is described as a smart beautiful girl in the field of computers and a lot less help Fahri to understand computers, and also often provide food and favorite mango juice for Fahri. Apparently she fell in love with Fahri, but she did not dare to express her feelings.
Then came a woman named Nurul, a college friend who also loves to Fahri, even asking her uncle Fahri proposed to him. While Fahri met Aisha in a train on his way home after Talaqi.
The Conflict
After that there Noura. Also a neighbor who is always tortured his own father. Fahri fully empathize as Noura and wanted to help him. Unfortunately it just empathy. Nothing more. But Noura.expect more and this will be a big problem when Noura accused Fahri who was raped her.
The conflict occurred after the marriage with Aisha Fahri, disturbances began to come to the wedding Fahri, where Aisha seized with jealousy by Maria and Nurul and the worst is Fahri arrest on charges of rape against Noura ...
In prison, there is a remarkable dialogue devastating to me ... that is an advice given by a fellow inmate in prison who tells the story of Prophet Yusuf and Zulaikha. On this advice, it vibrates the heart and the tears well up ...
On the other hand, the struggle to free her husband Aisha also thrilling. Including when they wanted to see Maria yamg a key witness the incident. However, she fell into a coma resulting from severe depression due to left Fahri. One of the sacrifices that "extraordinary" when Aisha was forced Fahri marries Maria, because she could only recover if the meeting with Fahri. These stories are also pretty fishing Aisha grief, strengthened by reasons very rational and stirred the heart. How sad a wife when her marriage ceremony with another woman in front of him ...
Critics
Need someone who is very strong to act as Fahri. Audiences need to be reassured. Fahri here more and more sloppy ... How establishment, the way he looked, especially how to argue against Aisha, who is more visible like child to his mother's nagging, rather than protest or advice of a husband to his wife (scene eat with Aisha, Maria, and her mother with Fahri, scene laptop, Nurul came when a family quarrel).
The process of finding Noura had at least a dozen or even 20 years swapped from real parent, going as fast as lightning. first Fahri ask someone for help, then Voila ... no process that looks (make a call Perhaps? or other activities less as the search?) The next scene is met Noura with birth parents.
This is only a few of the many peculiarities of this film. It seems as director Hanung have much to learn to make more movies for life, not like bollywood.
Besides the selection of setting, actors and actresses must be in accordance with the required character. Not just the big names and famous only. Ability as an actor should be able to find in this movie. It's a shame that the film should be good, turned upside down like a cheap romance.
But anyway, this movie has instilled a new milestone of Indonesian cinema. And supported by OST "Ayat-Ayat Cinta" which was sung beautifully by Rossa, It may be this movie would get a little applause from the audience ... well, just a little, because the film is not yet eligible for standing occation...
