Once there is a challenge to write something about the power of a book. To answer this challenge I write one side about a book that cannot be destroyed. Is it a powerful book?
This is the Book that Cannot be Destroyed
This book has power, not only literally, but also physically. Not only this book can change a person's personality or even a civilization, but this book is still here physically, and are not cracked by modernity even its age has been thousands of years.
This book cannot be destroyed even been burned, torn, chained behind a thick building, thrown into the sea and bombarded by hate.
Just imagine if there is a superhuman like this: he is already 2000 years old. Perhaps he had been buried at sea but he could not drown. Perhaps people have fed him to animals, but animals did not want to eat him. People gave him to drink poison, but he is still alive. He was tied with iron chains and locked in the basement but could be out after breaking the shackles of the chain. He was killed by hanging, but after his death was revealed, he could walk again. When burned at the stake it does not burn. After being beaten repeatedly, he is still fine. If he is fine until now, he is a superb and experienced many miracles.
If we understand history then we will wonder how the book is still there today.
I am talking about the Torah, and the other books that have the same thoughts, together as the Bible. Torah was written 500 years before the earliest Hindu letters. Since then there has been no book that is more loved and hated more than the Bible. Bible verses have consistently bought, studied and quoted. Many literary works has been inspired by the words of the Bible. Although many now oppose its teachings, the Bible remains the book that is special in Western civilization. The Bible is endless source of inspiration and best-selling book.
In ancient times, thousands of authors copied and disseminated this scripture. Now the big publishers print millions of the Bible. This is the bestseller of all time.
Repeatedly the Bible will be destroyed. Various kind of people: a wise man, great people, strong people trying to destroy it. In ancient times, many of the city illuminated by the fire that burned from Scripture that was being burned.
For centuries, people is prohibited to read. They were doing crime if read the Bible. A Roman emperor, Diocletin, for his lifetime trying to destroy this book. So much of the Bible were destroyed, and so many Christians who died so that one day Dolcetian ordered to print medals that said that Christianity had been dead.
Jews had been arrested, the city of Jerusalem had been burned but the Bible still survive. Roman persecution followed by a dark age where the Bible is only kept in the church / monastery. Civilization experienced derogation because many people were not able to read the Bible, thank God that then the heroes of the Reformation emerged. The Industrial Revolution was born.
The efforts to destroy the Bible is followed by accusations that the Bible has been falsified. But it has been found in the Dead Sea manuscripts that prove that the Bible does not change the content. Of course this will still be debated again. But the ancient texts is strong evidence that is difficult to be argued - as if God created the Dead Sea primarily to protect the existence of the Bible.
As stated by a verse from the Bible, "Grass will wither, the flowers will fall, but the Word of God is eternal.
