WWE Extreme Rules 2012
First off in an Extreme Rules Pre Show match for the United States Championship Santino Marella would land the Cobra to knock off The Miz to retain his title.
Extreme Rules would get started with a bang as Kane came to the ring for a Falls Count Anywhere Match with The Viper Randy Orton. Randy started to get the upper hand but Kane hit an upper cut sending The Viper out of the ring. Kane went for the cover outside of the ring but only got a two count. Orton rolled back in and Kane went for some goodies under the ring. A steel pipe entered in the hands of Kane but Randy ended up with it and sent The Big Red Monster reeling. They traded blows all around the arena before Randy delivered a knee to the big mans head and got a near fall. Kane regained control as they made their way to the stage area but Orton countered with a Drop Kick and got a two count. Randy went for the RKO, Kane countered and hit a boot to the head. They battled to the back stage area where Kane had control until Zack Ryder jumped on Kane's back. Kane tossed him off like a flea but Randy nailed a Back Breaker. Kane gained the upper hand again and escorted Orton back to the stage where Randy regained momentum and re-entered the ring. He took full control connecting on a Scoop Slam before retrieving a steel chair and beat Kane senseless. The Viper took it outside of the ring and cleared the announce table. Kane tried to turn things around but got caught with a Hanging DDT from the announce table. After a near fall, Kane again found counter sending Orton into the ring post. He rolled Randy back in the ring and went to the ropes but Randy knocked him down and connected with a Superplex but only for two. An RKO attempt came next that Kane countered into a Choke Slam good for two. The Big Red Monster placed a chair for the Tombstone, Orton countered and hit the RKO for the win.
Brodus Clay was out next for a contest with Dolph Ziggler. Clay was over powering Ziggler until Jack Swagger got on the apron and Brodus turned his attention to him and dolph kicked him out of the ring. Swagger then plowed Clay on the outside but the big man beat the count. Dolph didn't give Clay a chance to get up taking out his knee and hitting a Leg Drop. He attempted The Sleeper but Clay powered out. Swagger again tried to interfere but this time Clay took care of Jack and was ready for Dolph on his back. He tossed him off and then hit a Massive Head Butt to Ziggler's chest. He finished up with a Huge Splash to get the victory.
On the card next would be a Tables match for The Intercontinental Championship with The Big Show facing Cody Rhodes. Show began by battering Cody who rolled out of the ring to attempt to escape but Show gave chase and set up a table. Rhodes took The Big Mans knee out once it only angered The Giant. Show sent Cody flying into the wall. They got back in the ring and Show set up a table in the corner. Cody actually used the table to deliver a Disaster Kick but it did little to Show. With a table still set up outside of the ring, Show attempted to step over the ropes and Cody kicked him off of the apron and he stepped through the table. Rhodes's became the New Intercontinental Champion so Show entered the ring after the match and displayed what putting someone through a table means not once but twice and the latter was from inside the ring hoisted high over Show's head to the floor below.
The world's Heavy Weight Championship would be on the line next with Sheamus defending his title against Daniel Bryan in 2 out of 3 falls match. Sheamus powered his way into control first and nearly hit a Bro Kick but Bryan slipped under the ropes. Sheamus caught Bryan in a submission hold but Bryan found the ropes. Daniel used his quickness and wrestled momentum to his side but outside of the ring Sheamus turned things around. Back in the ropes Bryan caught Sheamus going to the top and regained control he slowed the pace and applied some holds to wear Sheamus down. He hit a flurry of kicks and started working on Sheamus' arm. The Great White battled back and hit a Fall Away Slam but only good for a two. Daniel side stepped Sheamus in the corner and his shoulder met the ring post. They would trade momentum before Sheamus hit a Shoulder Block from the ropes. They battled back and fourth and Sheamus again went shoulder first into the ring post. Bryan went to work on that shoulder from there on getting Sheamus down in the ring kicking the arm while Sheamus was on the ropes. He didn't break at 5 and got disqualified for the first fall. Sheamus 1 and Bryan 0. Bryan immediately latched on the Yes Lock but Sheamus would not tap out. However, he went unconscious and the second fall went to Bryan. Sheamus 1 and Bryan 1. After Sheamus came to and said he could continue , Bryan rushed Sheamus but got nailed with a Bro Kick but only got a two count. They traded blows and Daniel hit the Perfect Kick but Sheamus kicked out. He caught Bryan going up the ropes but Bryan battled him off and attempted a Splash but missed. Sheamus hit The Irish Curse Back Breaker and followed up with a Bro Kick to get the win and retain The World Heavy Weight Championship.
Next up was a handicap match between two unknown wrestlers Aaron Relic and Jay Hatton facing RyBack. RyBack completely demolished both of these guys before stacking then on top of each other and pinning both of them at the same time.
The WWE Championship Match was up next with CM Punk defending his title against Chris Jericho in a Chicago Street Fight. Punk took control first pounding Jericho out of the ring and over the barricade before tossing in some chairs and escorting Chris back in . Punk joined him with a kendo stick. Chris tried to run but Punk caught up and hooked him with a Clothesline. Jericho got the upper hand by hugging the official and poking Punk in the eyes. Action moved back out of the ring as Chris solidified momentum. Back in the ropes Jericho exposed the turn buckle. He took Punk back out of the ring and battered him in front of his family. Chris got in punk's sisters face and received a slap from her. He attempted to attack her and Punk lost it. He tore apart the announce table and threw Chris through a piece of it. However, Jericho found a counter and control by nailing Punk with a monitor and breaking the table top on his back. In the ring again they would trade the upper hand back and fourth but Chris remained in control. He retrieved a beer and dumped it on Punk. He got a second brew but decided to take a swig before dumping this one. Punk saw the opening and took advantage. Punk went to work with the kendo stick again putting it between Chris' legs and lifted him off of the ground. He went for the GTS but Chris countered into The Walls Of Jericho. Punk overpowered The Walls and went to the ropes where Jericho would meet him. After a brief battle on the ropes Chris came down first and Punk landed The Flying Elbow. Jericho kicked out so Punk went back to the GTS and Chris countered again. Punk caught Jericho going for a Lime Salt and made a third GTS attempt only to be countered once more and be driven through a chair. Jericho hit a Code Breaker and locked in The Walls Of Jericho. Punk reached the ropes but it didn't matter so Punk reached under the ring and got a fire extinguisher and blasted Jericho in the face. He then gave Chris a couple of shots to the ribs sending hi out of the ring and onto the announce table. He climbed to the top rope and landed The Flying Elbow through the announce table. He put Y2J back into the ring but got only a two count so Punk locked in the Anaconda Vise. Chris reached a kendo stick and broke it over Punks head to break the hold. Jericho used a chair and nailed another Code Breaker this time with a chair in between them but it was only good for two. Chris set Punk u for a GTS but Punk countered and catapulted Jericho into the exposed turn buckle and followed with a GTS to retain the WWE Championship.
The Diva's Championship would be on the line next with Nikki Bella defending her title against Layla in her first match back in a year. Layla jumped on top first and got a quick near fall but as she went to the ropes Brie interfered while Nikki had the refs attention. Layla would battle her way back and hit a Cross Body and get another near fall. The Bellas pulled Twin Magic but Layla hit huge Neck Breaker on Brie to get the victory and become The New Divas Champion.
John Cena would take on Brock Lesnar in an Extreme Rules match for the main event. Brock jumped right from bell and had Cena's head busted open. The ref checked on Cena who claimed he was fine and he attacked Brock but Lesnar was waiting for him and pounded him senseless before they had to glue John's head and control the bleeding. Cena again attacked and again Lesnar was waiting. He pounded Cena some more before kicking him out of the ring. They attempted to control the bleeding and John charged Brock once more. This time Cena landed an elbow and had Lesnar in position for an Attitude Adjustment but Brock countered. Cena gained momentum and knocked Brock into the ref eliminating him. Lesnar evened it up with a Clothesline. He regained control and as he hit Cena's head he would lick the blood from his hand. Cena tried o get his chain and Brock would catch him and attempt to rim his arm off. Brock grabbed John's chain and wrapped it around Cena's legs. He beat Cena some more before hanging him upside down from the ring post and beat him like a pinata. As Brock took a breather Cena tried one more time to battle back but Lesnar threw him into the steps. Lesnar walked over to the referee and picked him up by his belt and tossed him in the ring. Cena was crawling back in and would surprise Brock with an AA attempt but Lesnar countered and nailed the F5, however, Cena would kick the ref on the way down so when Brock covered there was no one to count. Another official ran out but only got a two count. Lesnar attacked the referee and kicked him out of the ring. He brought some steps into the ring and Cena again would go after Brock but Lesnar locked in a Kimura on Cena's arm. Cena lifted Brock up and slammed him on the steps to break the hold. John attempted a Leg Drop from the ropes but Lesnar moved. Brock launched himself at John sending Cena off of the apron but he went over the top rope himself. Lesnar laughed it off and stood on the steps in the center of the ring mocking Cena. John, however, found his chain and wrapped it around his fist and when Lesnar launched himself this time he ran into a "chain gang" style right hand. This left Brock spewing blood from the head and John would stalk him as he came to his feet and hit the AA onto the steps and pinned Lesnar on top of the steps.
