It's finally here! The night that has been anticipated for more than a year. WrestleMania 28 got kicked off with The World Heavyweight Championship on the line with Daniel Bryan defending his title against The Great White Sheamus. As the bell rang Bryan made Sheamus wait so he could get his good luck kiss from A. J. and he turned around into a huge Bro Kick from The Great White. Sheamus got the three count and became the New World Heavyweight Champion.
Next to the ring was Kane to settle his differences with Randy Orton. Randy jumped on Kane quick as they began battling for control. After a few exchanges Randy gained control and went for the Hanging DDT immediately but Kane countered and dropped Orton on the ropes to turn things around. The Viper attempted to battle back but Kane just continued to wear him down. Randy finally hit a Swinging Neck Breaker to regain control for a moment but Kane refused to let him get any momentum. Orton flipped through a Side Slam to get the upper hand and connected on the Scoop Slam and followed with the Hanging DDT. Then the voices kicked in but Kane countered The RKO and nailed a boot to Orton's face but it was only good for a two count. Kane went to the top rope and The Viper met him in mid air with a Drop Kick. Randy went for the Punt but Kane was ready and caught him with a Choke Slam. Randy kicked out and after Kane avoided another RKO, Orton had Kane set up for the Superplex. Kane countered and Choke Slammed Randy from the second rope to get the pin and win.
Cody Rhodes would make his way to the ring next to defend The Intercontinental Championship against The Big Show. As soon as the bell rang, Cody fled the ring. Show gave chase and finally caught Rhodes and tossed him back in the ring. Show began battering Cody taking out some built up frustrations and even sat on Cody's head for a four count. Cody battled back and took out The Giant's legs and began to work on his left leg. The Big Man found some daylight and regained control for a moment. Cody hit one Disaster Kick but as he went for the second, Show smacked him out of mid air like a fly. Show followed with The Weapon Of Mass Destruction and knocked Rhodes out to become the new Intercontinental Champion and finally get his WrestleMania moment.
Diva Tag Team action was next with Beth Phoenix and Eve taking on Kelly Kelly and Maria Menounos from Extra. Eve and Kelly would start in the ring as Kelly Kelly would get a quick near fall before taking control. Eve countered in the corner but Kelly turned it right back around and tagged in Maria. Eve gained control here and started wearing Maria down. The Glamazon finally got her chance and would also wear down Menounos, as well as, getting a cheap shot on Kelly. With Eve back in Maria would boot her out of the ring and get the tag. Phoenix came back in as Kelly would get control and nail a huge flip off the top rope but Eve broke up the near fall. Phoenix set up for a Glam Slam but Kelly countered and turned it into a Bull Dog. Kelly tagged Maria back in who went to the top rope but got caught by The Glamazon and was about to get slammed but Kelly came to her aide and she rolled Beth up to get the victory.
The end of an Era would come next inside of Hell In A Cell as The Undertaker would attempt to extend his streak to 20-0 against The Game Triple H. These two squared off toe to toe in the center of the ring to kick things off. They exchanged momentum until the action moved outside of the ring where The Dead Man would take control. Taker would use the cell every chance that he could get. Back in the ropes, The Game started to turn things around hitting a Face Buster but Undertaker quickly regained control. Taker went to the ropes and nailed Old School and tossed Triple H back out of the ring . The Dead Man dismantled the steps and crushed The Game in the face with them. He placed the other half of the steps in the ring before going back to work on Triple H hitting the Leg Drop with The Game hanging off of the apron. In the ring again, Triple H hooked up on a DDT out of nowhere to even things up . He would use the steps that The Undertaker brought into the ring to bounce The Dead Man's head off of before attempting a Pedigree on them. Taker countered and flipped The Game off. After a brief exchange, The Game nailed a Spine Buster on the steps but The Dead Man latched on Hells Gates. Triple H lifted Taker up and slammed him off. Two chairs were introduced to the match and Taker took about 20 to the back before Michaels took the chair away from The Game and the two exchanged words. As HBK checked on Taker, The Game shoved him out of the way and continued beating him with a chair. Michael's again checked on The Dead Man who responded "Do Not Stop It". The Game, bleeding profusely from the eye, yelled "Stay Down" but Taker refused. A couple more shots with a chair and Triple H covered but only for a two count. The Game ordered HBK to end the match or he would end it himself but Taker again refused. The sledge hammer was brought into play next as Triple H and HBK argued. Shawn was begging The Dead Man to quit but to no avail. The Game nailed Taker in the jaw with the hammer but he kicked out at two. The Game was about to split Taker's wig with the hammer but Michael's grabbed it out of his hands and Triple H again ordered HBK to end the match. As Shawn again went to ask The Dead Man, Taker latched Hell's Gate on him. The Game came to his rescue and hit Undertaker in the head with the sledge hammer. He went to hit him a second time but Taker kicked him with a low blow but the ref was incapacitated. The Dead Man locked in Hell's Gates on Triple H and after a brief struggle The Game was unconscious but Michaels was still out. Another referee came in and both men came to their feet. Taker Choke Slammed The Game but only got a two count.The Dead Man Choke Slammed that ref next and set up for a Tombstone. Triple H countered and pushed him into Sweet Chin Music from HBK. The Game followed with a Pedigree and a cover but again only for two. Triple H went back to the sledge hammer and HBK interfered. The Game threw Michael's out of the ring only to turn around to an awakened Undertaker. Taker hit a couple of boots and Snake Eyes to finally connect with a Tombstone as HBK came back in the ring but The Game also kicked out at two. The two exchanged blows as they battled back to their feet. The Game hit another Pedigree but to no avail. He crawled back to his hammer but Taker got him a chair and returned the favors that he was given earlier in the match. After about 20 shots, Taker covered for a two count. He crawled to the hammer again but could barely lift it. He attempted to punch The Dead Man but Taker stopped it and took it from him. As The Game refused to quit, he gave Taker the "Suck It" sign and Taker answered with a hammer to the jaw. As The Game tried to crawl up his legs, Taker grabbed him by the hair and put his thumb to his throat and gave him the sign of "The End". He followed with a Tombstone to put the Game to rest and take the streak to 20-0. Michaels showed respect for the Dead Man with a hand shake and Taker assisted HBK in helping The Game back to the stage where they showed mutual respect with a group hug before going back stage.
We would see a 12 man tag team match next that would determine who will be the General Manager of both smackdown and RAW. Kofi Kingston and Dolph Ziggler would get things started in the ring as Kingston got momentum and tagged in R-Truth. Dolph turned things around against Truth and tagged in McIntyre. Truth got the upper hand on Drew and Khali took his turn. Booker-T came in to work on Drew and had control until there was interference from the Team Johnny corner. Swagger came in for McIntyre and worked on Booker before bringing The World's Strongest Man Mark Henry. He took a couple shots on Booker and let The Miz have a shot. Booker evened things up against Miz but couldn't get the tag. Henry came in and both corners cleared. After the ring cleared out, Booker got a tag to Santino Marella who would wear down The Miz and hit him with The Cobra but Dolph broke up the near fall. Santino tagged in Ryder who appeared to have things in control but The Miz caught him with a Skull Crushing Finale to win the match for Team Johnny.
Next up we would see the WWE Championship match between Chris Jericho and CM Punk, and John Laurinaitis added a stipulation just minutes after Team Johnny won, that if CM Punk gets disqualified that he will also lose the title. These two grappled for control and Punk got the upper hand first. Jericho tried to get under Punk's skin so that he would get himself disqualified. Punk kept his composure and Chris continued taunting him. Chris took control and landed a Suplex off of the apron onto the floor. Chris then began battering Punk outside of the ring before escorting him back in. Chris started wearing Punk down and everything Punk would try Jericho was one step ahead. Finally, Punk countered a Running Bulldog sending Chris flying into the corner. Punk gained control and hit the High Knee in the corner. Jericho countered Punk's Running Bulldog and went for the Lime Salt. Punk got his knees up but Chris was ready and went for The Walls Of Jericho. Punk rolled through to regain control but landed on Chris's knees from the top rope. Jericho got The Code Breaker but Punk rolled out of the ring. Back in the ropes Punk nailed a GTS but Jericho got his leg on the rope. After a number of counters and reverses Jericho got the upper hand and connected with a Lime Salt. After a battle in the corner Jericho locked in The Walls but Punk found the rope. After launching Jericho out of the ring Punk nailed a Suicide Dive and a High Knee. Back inside Punk attempted a springboard but Chris caught him with a Code Breaker in mid air only good for a two count. Chris countered two GTS attempts and again took control. With Punk down, Jericho went to the ropes but Punk hit a huge kick to knock him off. With Chris in GTS position, Punk yelled "Best In The World!" but Jericho countered into The Walls Of Jericho. Punk attempted to reach the ropes but Jericho pulled him back to the center of the ring. However, as he went to reset, Punk rolled through and latched on the Small Package. Jericho reversed it but Punk reversed it back and latched on The Anaconda Vise. Chris countered for a two count but Punk reset with The Vise still locked in. Jericho delivered a couple of knees to break free and attempt The Walls again but Punk would not allow it and latched on The Anaconda Vise again and this time forced Jericho to tap out as he retained his WWE Championship.
John Cena made his way to the ring next to finally settle his problems with The Rock. This once in a life time match has been building up for over a year and is sure to be epic. The bell rang and they tied up. Cena got the first shove and they locked up again. The Rock matched Cena and they exchanged some quick reverses and The Rock got the upper hand and a near fall. Another brief battle left Cena in control as he would try to wear down The Rock but Rock quickly evened things up and Cena rolled out of the ring to gather himself. Back in the ropes Rock seemed to have control but Cena powered through and took control and as The Rock began to come back Cena took the action outside of the ring. John used the barricade and the announce table before returning to the mat. Cena hit a belly to belly slam to remain in control and locked on a tight Bear Hug. Rock powered out and nailed a DDT but as they both came to their feet Cena took control. The Rock turned it around and set up for The Peoples Elbow that Cena would counter and attempt The STF. He did not get it locked but did get control. Cena hit a Five Knuckle Shuffle but Rock countered The Attitude Adjustment and both men ended up on their back. They beat the ten count and traded a few blows before Cena hit an AA but only for a two count. The Rock hit a Rock Bottom out of nowhere but Cena kicked out at two. Rock took the upper hand in the corner but Cena caught him with a Side Slam for another near fall. Cena went to the top rope and connected with a huge leg drop but The Rock refused to lose. Rock found a counter and locked in a Sharp Shooter but Cena got to the ropes. After a few rights, The Rock latched it on again but again but Cena made it to the ropes. Rock moved the action out of the ring and introduced Cena to the steel steps. With Cena on the apron he hit a Sunset Flip and rolled it into the STF. Rock crawled for the ropes but Cena pulled him back to the center. The ref raised the arm once, twice, but on the third time The Rock got a burst of adrenaline and crawled to the ropes. After the break, Rock nailed a Samoan Drop and both men took a breather but beat the ten count. They began exchanging blows again and after a Rock Bottom and AA were countered Rock took the upper hand and hit The Peoples Elbow but Cena kicked out. As Rock walked over to John, Cena would roll him up but only for two. Cena then placed The Rock on the ropes but Rock battled back and sent Cena off of the ropes. Rock went up top and hit a Cross Body. Cena rolled through and lifted Rock onto his shoulders to nail an Attitude Adjustment but Rock escaped again. As Cena would taunt The Rock and attempt a Peoples Elbow, Rock popped up and hit a Rock Bottom to get the three count and win the match.
