My favourite writing places.

A number of articles have been written on writing, but I wanted to include my entry too. Here is a list of the writing places I use.

My favourite writing places.

Wikinut.

Of course, I am on wikinut, otherwise I would not be writing this! I find wikinut a good place. It is full of great writers, people from all walks of life. It is great to read and share and comment on each other’s writings. Sometimes people can seem harsh in what they write about you, but then the biggest problem there is that you cannot HEAR the voice behind the words, so many times things can be misunderstood. As a writing place though I think Wikinut is pretty good, as you can see from my entries I have put a lot on although I have only been a member since May. The pay was not as much as I had been told, but as I have said before on one of my pages, I am not on here to make money, although that is a bonus, I am here to grow and learn and get better. Moreover, that is what Wikinut does for me.

Opuss.

Now this is a beauty of an App’ if you are able to get it, I highly recommend you do. This community of writers is completely encouraging, there is not one arrogant or rude person, all the users are like a huge family. Like many social places, you can “like” and “comment” and “repost”. This app is also great because when you get a message it Meows, yes, if you get a lot of messages there is a constant meow and it feels like you really do have a cat in your house. In this app’ the more you use the higher ranking you get, although it is not about “getting as high as you can” it is good to know that everyone encourages everyone, building each other up in the writing abilities. Again, like most online stuff, you get a following and you can follow others. This App, Opuss, is a gem of an app, a truly fantastic writing place for writers who love writing. If you do not have it, then get it! If someone on this app sets out to cause problems or cheat their way through, it is dealt with quickly and effectively.
Five stars out of five for Opuss.

Websites/blogging.

Having a website or a blog is another fantastic way to spread what you do. I have a website, which can be viewed at

www.adamcarr82.wordpress.com

that I began also in May. It is a fantastic program. I searched lots of free blog and websites and this has got to be the best, for me at least. Again, you gain followers and follow others; you get “likes” and “comments”. A website it self-explanatory. However, just having one sets you in good steed to spread what you do into the world.

Twitter

Simple and effective. Keeping the words to a minimum. Twitter is a great way to keep it simple. To restrict yourself in words, you can say a lot more in less.

Facebook

Everyone knows Facebook. I personally use it to spread my work, providing links to my writings; I put some stories on there and use it to speak to others of like mind as well as friends and family. I also put small examples of jokes or things I go through. Not to personal but enough to let the followers know a little about me. Nothing more to really say about Facebook, it is well known.

My Writing Spot.

Again, this is an App, but it is fantastic, it is not a social site of any kind it is simply a writing device for those who love to write. You can spell check, check words with a dictionary and thesaurus and it provides a word count, which I find very useful.
A highly recommend writing app. Like Opuss if you do not have it, get it!

Google+

and last of all, Google+, I use this just to promote my writing, but it is like facebook, maybe a competitor but still good, it has a nice interface and its easy to use. Nothing wrong with getting yourself an account at all. Try it.

There you have it a collection of writing places that I spend my time.

I hope you too can find some good quality writing time with these sites and apps.

Happy writing everyone.

Thanks Adam for a very useful share. As for myself, I am active now only at Wikinut. I have lots of friends at my previous site Yahoo! Voices and also Bukisa. I have limited time as I work for a living - siva
