This my personal personal favorites. This list is not thorough.These artists were chosen from the early listening days of the station

1.M83-France's Anthony Gonalenez and Nicolas Fromageau's "Hurry Up We're Dreaming" is a lovely album of contentment and joy
2.Beach House- Baltimore natives Victoria LeGrand and Alex Scully delights listeners with their indie music. Their sound is hypnotic and inviting
3. Beirut- so many feelings they invoke...one is complete fulfillment. Their success story includes a musical prodigy of Zach Condon, an accomplished trumpeter
4.Empire of the Sun- Austrailan electro-indie rockers are inspired by Phoenix. Their debut album went platinum in their local country
5.Haim- these talented sisters consists of Danielle, Este, and Alana. Danielle toured with The Strokes Julian Casablanacas
6. Charlotte Gainsburg- an actress first; a musician second. She began at 13 and eventually teamed up with producer Beck for her 2009 album
7. Blonde Redhead- This New York band is comprised of Kazu Makino and Maki Takahashi and Italian twins Simone and Amedeo Pace. The launch of their album was produced by Sonic Youth Steve Shelley
8. Animal Collective- Friends who experiment make music magic. Their tone is complicated; disorganized. Their album "Merriweather Post Pavilion made the Top 20
9.Fleet Foxes-This Seattle band owns their 60s as well as folk . The first album went platinum in the United Kingdom
10.Mayer Hawthorne- An artist reminiscent of late 60s- early 70s soul music. Real name Andrew Cohen
11. Grizzly Bear- what started as a project for Edward Droste led to ear candy with its layered vocals. Their 2008 album "Veckatimest" hit Number 8 on Billboard 200
12.Phantogram- New Yorkers with a psychedelic sound. A big hit of theirs "When I'm Small"
13. The National- indie rock infused with Brit-pop. Their 2001 self-titled album was hailed a success. They went gold in 2010 in multiple countries
14.The xx's- These British youth cite R& B as inspiration. Winners of the Mercury Prize
15. The Drums- Childhood friends Jonathan Pierce and Jacob produce 50s melodies. The trio score some buzz with "Let's Go Surfing
16.James Blake- British R&B singer influenced by Stevie Wonder. He covered Joni Mitchell's "A Case of You"
17. Lana del Rey- retro 60s singer has a soft voice. Her single "Video Games" created quite a stir online
18. St. Lucia- Their 80s vibe all courtesy of singer-songwriter Jean-Philip Grobler. He is a South African who sang in Drakensburg Boys Choir School.
19. Jamie Liddell- A British neo-soul. The album's title track was used for the video game Red Dead Redemption
20. Passion Pit- This band is the fruition of Michael Angelakos Valentine's gift for his girlfriend. They opened for Death Cab for Cutie


It is hard to narrow these down, but were chosen on a whim. Those listed are unique finds. Feel free to add.
