This is a book review of the children's book "Biscuit Wins a Prize". It is a book that shows and tells what a puppy can and cannot do.

"Biscuit Wins A Prize"

The children's book written by Alyssa Satin Capucilla is a very cute and humorous kids book that shows what a cute puppy named Biscuit does to win a prize. The story starts out with Biscuit getting ready to go to a pet show and getting ready seems not to be easy. As in any children's book the action must seen in the pictures.
There is an issue with Biscuit wanting to play when putting on his leash, but out the door for it was time to leave for the pet show. At the show Biscuit sees his old friend, Sam and he meets several new friends as well like a bird that makes a lot of noise. Biscuit makes a lot of new friends from a variety of animals and he even wins the best prize of all at the pet show. If you are able you must go out and try to find this very cute book at your local bookstore to see what kind of prize he won.
The artwork in this children's book is colorful and artfully done for it will make you want to jump right in and join the fun. Well, the artwork made me think that why. Teachers could use this book in a preschool or kindergarten classroom to teach about animals and maybe even how to put on a show like the one in the book, but not with live animals for teachers can never be to sure what the students would bring into the classroom. The classroom could put on a show with their favorite toy or stuffed toy.
This book could also be used as part of Story time and some of the questions the teacher could ask are: Do you remember what kind of animals Biscuit met at the pet show? What animal had a shell? Had feathers? Had a fluffy tail? What was the prize that Biscuit won at the end of the story? What was the name of Biscuit's old friend?
This book is part of series that the teacher could share with the class and start discussions on various subjects from going to school, preparing for bath time, making friends and even just playing with others. To this reader and educator it is a very good read to teach.
