Sara loved nature, she also loved working on her farm, which has being in her family for generations. But as much as she cared for it, the farm was in bad shape and needed cash, so Sara juggles between jobs, tending to the farm, as well as working as a research assistant.
All these she knew would save enough to bring the farm back to its former glory but then that incredibly gorgeous yet obnoxious Professor Joshua was her stumbling block!

Growing Attraction In A Nutshell

Sara Bennet knew she had to do whatever it took to save her farm, it had being her family for generations and she loved caring for her goats, so even if the machinery was old and obsolete and cash was sparse, she the farm was worth saving.

So she juggles balancing tending to the crops and the animals, taking her classes at the local agricultural college, as well as being the research assistant for the famous Dr Joshua Williams, all these to save enough money so that she could be acceptd at the Farm Manager's Programme which was sure to help her farm in the long run but that insufferable Professor Joshua was just maddening, he thought saving the farm was delusional and just a pipe dream.

Worse he had the nerve to tell her that even with all her excellent credentials and recommendations from the other college Professors, she wasn't fit to be his research assistant ... Why? He said that she was just too damn pretty.

It took awhile for this to sink in but Sara was determined to save her farm, so she tells Joshua that although she can't do anything to change her looks to suit the job but she would promise to the best assistant he would ever have... well until the sparks started to fly... the first kiss then changed it all.

My Thoughts

I enjoyed reading this book, Growing Attraction by Ellen James was very interesting, our main character had all the requisites, she was pretty, headstrong and had a good heart.

She loved nature and was always talking to the plants which totally really infuriated Joshua all the time. Joshua by the way was also another character, he was usually non communicado especially about his feelings which could be traced to his upbringing, he had parents and siblings who were always expressive of their feelings, this sadly didn't rub off Joshua cos he didn't want any of that express your feelings mantra.

So we have Joshua who is very clinical about things, he believed in the scientific approach to logic, Sara on the other hand believed that nature was alive and was listening to all that we say, it was a case of opposites attract yet they understood each other.

It was up to Sara to convince Joshua that you can't survive on scientific logic alone, that there is more to life.... well I guess she won in the end.

Ellen James's portrayal of Joshua even when he couldn't talk because of a flu was quite comical yet endearing, the banter and side talk between Sara and Joshua was delightful.

Growing Attraction is about how two opposites with a little in common can meet and have a possibility, an enjoyable read.

Interesting logic - one cannot be a research assistant if damn pretty! But seems it has been proved otherwise along with opposites attract. Good review, Joyalariwo, thanks - siva

Cute review. The idea of the male lead getting struck with the flu made me laugh. Some men can be such babies when they are sick. ;)

Tell me about it! My better half gets a cold the other day and it feels as if the world was going to end. Annoyingly enough its all forgotten when he gets better... Aagh!
