I decided to write a review for this place in Middleboro that I had a great birthday dinner at.

If you live in the area and want great food, go there.

The Food

I have to begin by saying that the food was absolutely delicious, and that was the case for everyone in my party as well.
I ordered mozzarella sticks as an appetizer, and for being near the bar, they came relatively quickly in advance for my meal. I appreciated that thoroughly.
I had enough time to finish my sticks and go out for a cigarette before the food got to my table, but the time went by quickly and was definitely an attribute to the quality of the meal itself.
For my entree, I ordered steak tips.
They were perfect, just the right amount of blood and pink: Enough to taste, not enough to scare. They were topped with Cajun spices and was broiled with care. It came with Red Bliss mashed potatoes (my personal favorite) and green beans sauteed in garlic with red pepper.
The green beans were locally grown, they tasted earthy and natural like a fresh bean is supposed to. I didn't get to sample the peppers, I just don't like them. They added a subtle kick to the beans though, and it was very filling.
It was my birthday, and they gave me a Tollhouse cookie pie with a very hefty scoop of homemade vanilla ice cream. I almost wet myself when I took the first bite. (not really but you know what I mean).

Everyone else at my table was full and satisfied.
This place had the ability to make a 92-year old man that usually has the stomach capacity of a muffin clear out a whole rack of ribs. Bravo.

The Service

Our waitress was very pleasant and easy to talk to. She checked on us often, and always was able to come back quickly with what we wanted. It was just the right amount of attention, not too much that she would be smothering us. I believe her name was Vanessa, and she did a wonderful job. She even sang me happy birthday. (:

The staff was friendly and the owner was walking around, making sure that everyone was happy. This establishment really showed care for their customers.

The Atmosphere

As I said earlier, we were sitting near the bar, so it was a little loud.
If there was any complaint I'd have about this place, it would be the noise.
There was light jazz playing in the background as I looked around the room, finding the walls covered in movie, sports, and hand-painted memorabilia. It was really cool to not find a blank spot on the wall. My personal favorite sign was the "Daisy Buchanan's: Canterbury St". Great fabrication of a little piece of The Great Gatsby. It gave the place a huge splash of culture.

I'd love to come back to this place again, I'd just maybe hope for a seat away from the bar.

Thanks Boston Tavern, it was rad.
