For Bijal and Sinead Shah a couple of visionaries and founders of the Woodhouse Wine Estates- this family affair has been responsible for high end filled quality wines in all of Washington State.

2010 Hudson- Shah Cabernet Blend Rattlesnake Hills, Washington

Bijal Shah is been dubbed as the Don of fine winemaking in his native Washington State as well in the Pacific Northwest- as his reputation that precedes him and comes along with his collection of fine wines.
Being one of the founders of the prestigious Kennedy-Shah Estate located in Woodinville in the northern part of Seattle- Mr. Shah really has gone out of his way in winemaking as well excel in presenting his one of a kind collections.
Since I came across with his wines, I was very impress with the texture and intricate detail’s his winemakers apply in every one of his works of art- among one of them are his Tempranillos and now his blends made with both red and white grapes.
In this case I will review a blend that dominates the almighty Cabernet Sauvignon in this Hudson- Shah beauty that really is to kill for, with its one of a kind flavor’s.
A blend indeed, dominated by 80% of Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Malbec and 8% Petit Verdot- exposing how Washington State is becoming very competitive in the domestic market with the use of its own Bordeaux varietals.
After your first step in removing the cork, this gem exhibits in its initial nose, aromas of a dark fruit basket along some floral scents but very seldom as the fruits are the dominant aromas.
As it makes its first contact with your taste buds- hence the surprise with its all-around flavors of nice tannins worth every drop you sip- fruitiness is always present as well a nice finish that leave you asking for more!
This wine really can pair well with any dishes you paired it, call them ethnic or traditional, this beauty won’t let you down at the moment you serve it on your glass.
At the end this wine shows in its alcohol contents a nice 13.7%, still young although it’s a three year old vintage- but after the decanter it will show of its flavor’s worth for royalty.
Thanks to its majority of varietals coming from this Estate as well a nice price tag in the $ 9.99 USD, £ 7.25 GBP and € 7.52 Euros, this wine is a steal as well comfort for your pocket.
Sláinte!
Remember to say when is when and drink responsibly and with moderation!
