Another gem of a wine in this Riesling that’s produced in the Columbia Valley, Washington, known for its one of a kind production of this quality filled wines.

2012 Eroica Riesling, Woodinville, Washington

If I talk about Rieslings, I couldn’t omit the Pacific Northwest a region that’s making a name for itself in the world of fine wines.
The rich region of the Columbia Valley is one of the many wine producing regions of Washington State- that plays an important role in grape growing and harvesting for wine production purposes and labeled as an AVA.
Being a part of the American Viticulture Area an appellation similar that the ones used in wine producing countries of Europe- still the American version is labeled as a little less strict as the ones from the old continent.
In this 2012 Eroica Riesling, it’s a work between two estates and two nations using the methods of the old country from Dr. Loosen Estate in Mosel, Germany and the rich fertile soils of the Columbia Valley from Chateau St. Michelle in Woodinville, Washington.
Considered as an important project that so far has adopted the old country production techniques that so far has yield 500,000 plus cases a year and making this estate in the Pacific Northwest as a worldwide leader in the production of this delicious white beauty.
Beautiful wine indeed, this Eroica offers you a nose of sweet limes and peaches and minerals- that really shows a nice acidity at the moment it reaches your mouth a fruit basket, exposing a nice leveled acidity and minerality.
When you pair this wine you won’t hesitate with these flavors that can fare well with Asian dishes, Indian gastronomy, and all type of seafood base dishes with crab, lobster, shellfishes and scallops.
Still this wine shows a 12.5% alcohol level, considered a sort of high in reference to traditional Rieslings that shows an average of 7 to 8.5 in average- this in part is blamed in the normal but cooler temperatures that delayed the onset ripening known in wine terms as Veraison.
With a price tag of $ 18.99 USD, £ 16.99 GBP and € 16.00 Euros, very well worth its price in every drop that touches your delicate palate and considered popular in wine aficionados circles, a delight well worth having.
Remember to enjoy with Responsibility and Moderation!

AVA: It only specifies the production by geographical location with just an 85% of grapes being grown in that region and doesn’t limit the method of vinification or crop yields.
