Success comes from a series of failures. It is our perseverance that lets us see the positive side of failure. We learn from it and become better. - A review of the animated movie "Meet the Robinson's"

The Plot

“Meet the Robinsons” was an animated movie released by Walt Disney Pictures last March 2007. It tells about the story of an orphaned young inventor named Lewis, whose science project aims to retrieve lost memory in the hope of glimpsing his lost family.

As it turns out, someone from the future came back in time to steal his project by sabotaging his presentation at the Science Fair. They want him to lose hope in his invention then steal it and present it as their own work. Unknown to him, his future son also came back to stop the sabotage and took him along in a time travel journey where he got to meet his wacky future family. It was them that told him to keep on trying and that every failure must be a motivation for success. He even met his future self.

In the end, he was able to get back to the Science Fair and his project worked. It is in this Fair that he met his adoptive parents and his future wife. He then realizes that some things happen for a reason. And instead of living in the past, he now focused on his future and worked on his inventions.

My thoughts

It is an inspiring movie about never losing hope amidst all adversities. It showed me that no matter how many times we fail, whether in our career or family, we must always look at them as an opportunity to learn and be better. We must never be afraid to try new things and explore new ideas. Our positive state of mind is the key for growth. Our future depends not on our past but on the choices we make today. It is our perseverance and hard work that will help us succeed. No matter what challenges comes our way, as Lewis said, we must “keep moving forward”.
