Looking at Bubblews in Perspective

Bubblews is a writing site that paid heavily for 3 years , but has now clamped down on payments. it is site that will be long remembered.

Bubblews left an Indelible Mark

Bubblews is a writing site that burst on the scene about 3 to 4 years back. It opened the flood gates of remuneration for writers and literally let lose a tsunami in the writing world. It was something unheard off that writers could be paid upto $ 1000 a month.
The brain behind this revolution was Arvind Dixit. Success is when it is recognized and Alexa rankings catapulted Bubblews to within 1100 of the world’s top sites on the internet. It was heady stuff. Out of envy, many writers and editors forecast that the site would collapse in side 6 months. It never did and continued its whirlwind payments for 4 years. The site is still alive and kicking, the only difference is that payments have reduced but even now it pays more than other sites.
The quantum of payments made by Bubblews and Arvind is mind boggling. I have known writers (some of my friends) who make more than $6000 in 3 years. In about 31 months I was paid $ 4650. (About 3 months back I made an FD of the amount and it is giving me $ 350 in interest PA). Now I am thinking of buying anther car with it.
Compare this with hub pages where in 3 years I have been paid $206 and Wikinut about $100. Thus for me to earn $4650, I would need over a 100 years on such sites. I am sure I won’t live that long. We must see everything in perspective. Talking that Bubblews is a Ponzi scheme and all that is so churlish. Writers who write such stuff are a microscopic minority as millions love the site as can be seen from its position as per Alexa rankings which is still about 4000: which is creditable.
Bubblews may close, it’s OK. But what will remain is a blazing path for other writing sites to follow. It shows that payments can be made to writers There are a few who have copied Bubblews. We will have to wait and see whether that success can be replicated.
In life there are always era and periods. Nothing is permanent. The fact that bubblews ran for 4 years is itself a feat. Mind you it is still there, only the old payments have ceased, but that era is over and I am glad I was part of that era.
It is so easy to condemn a site. The point is that should a writer wait for 100 years like on Wikinut to get a similar return or write on a site like bubblews and make a pile. I am glad there are other sites that pay handsomely and they are inspired by bubblews. I won’t name them here.
Lord Krishna came in the world and left. He had to go, but he left an indelible mark. So to with Arvind and bubblews. I hope I have set the record straight.
Update
The bubblews of yore has vanished and gone. the site that is now on the net is a shadow of its old self and payments have dropped by 500%. In fact one can say that the bubblews in existence now will not give you any money, I just wonder how Arvind paid all those 2 years? this will remain the big mystery. As far as wikinut is concerned the payments are a pittance, but I have the satisfaction of 1.3 million views

I have being a member of bubblews for over 1 year and though i am not one of the high earners, i also think they have done a fair job, there have been many start up mistakes but i hope things even out for everyone there now.
Cheers.

Thanks Madan for the share of good news. It makes one wonder how they manage to pay so high while others are unable to pay any meaningful sums. The jury is still out as to whether they made any money or just pumped it from their own resources, but for many writers who benefited that may not even matter. Make hay when the sun shines is their credo! siva

The reason Bubblews pays 'so high' is because it doesn't pay 3/4ths of those who write there.

Dear brother Kayler. If what you say is true, Bubblews would never have reached 1100 in global rankings of world sites, where google is no 1. Be realistic man !

Honesty, I've been an active member in Bubblews within 10 months and I only get the 3rd of payment from that site. But my next 4th payment so on till this day I never received it. By the way, when I came to Wikinut on that time that I have began to leave that site.
Great article which contains an amazing testimony. Thank you for sharing sir.

if only they would have played heir cards right, sad to see it end like this, but their actions made it so.

Indeed some people were fortunate enough to make good money there, I made a few dollars myself. I would guess maybe 10 % of the people did not get paid and of those some (not all) were cheating. I do not think the ratio is as high as Kaylar suggests, I could be wrong.

Hi Madan,
From what I can make out, the intention of Arvind was good. Yet they perhaps were not realistic and pumped in Venture capitalists(VC) money in to Bubblews payouts. Also, they were not good at keeping users updated who had been missing payouts. And the latest measure to cancel all payouts before certain date due to high spam content was definitely bad, since it meant clubbing the guilty(spammers) and genuine and even high quality writers alike. So people would definitely feel bad. I would have settled for a $20 or $25 cut in payouts but foregoing $100+ (and more for other users perhaps) and that too in one go is unacceptable.

Perhaps if the Bubblews Admin had cut some amount or may be given payouts over a longer period to genuine users, it would have been better.

Pure miss management! plain and simple and no malice intended. They reaped the whirlwind and it spat them out. Look around you even governments are getting caught with their pants down. You either learn from your mistakes and come back with a vengeance or roll over and bite the dust.

I would not t say am an alumni of bubblews because am still there but the last 2 years was a roller coaster ride on my over 300 articles. Yes it can never be duplicated no one would dare to trekk the same path and for them they learned their lesson too and going back to basic and new platform made them relevant to date.(while having a breakfast of rants daily)

Bubblews at their hey day when I joined them is valued at $3millions with a daily ad revenues close to $3grand at the gradeur global top 1500 rank. Now it's on a the red mark toying the 6000slot, with only about half a million net worth and an revenues of less than $700..they have to make themselves significant agan mthey still value their position while still with in the IVY league of writing site.

No, I don't think Arvind is interested in a comeback. He is just content to let things meander

sure they wont do a comeback by negating new (current) formula or adhering to the old one. They still have good numbers to just improve the site and viable to give 80% revenue share!
