A Rocking new local Rockford, IL Band is creating a global scene thanks to the internet!

AKA 5 Nobodys Protege Review

AKA 5 is a new local band in Rockford, IL who has now busted out on the internet going global. Their music is like rock got it on with a sultry Blues singer, and had a baby which is AKA 5. Does this marriage work? The answer is oddly enough yes. AKA 5 consists of James Terry (Lead Guitar) Amanda Terry (Lead vocals) John Guler (Drums) and Larry Williams (Bass Guitar/ Audio Engineer). Their demo release Nobody’s Protege contains 4 songs: Noir, Ghost Town, Deadline and Solider Lost at War.

What make AKA 5 stand out is their music style, and their lead vocalist. While they would be classified under rock, or even alternative rock to label them that does not really justify their music style. This is all due to lead vocalist Amanda Terry. Her soul sultry voice is reminiscent to a blues singer that sings in the hottest Blues nightclubs on the hottest Louisiana night, yet in “Deadline” she changes her vocals into punk rock party girl. Then goes back into sultry haunting vocals for “Solider Lost at War“. The song is hauntingly beautiful showcasing their rock and blues blend that proves these two genres can go together. As well as proving this upcoming band is a band that will be going places.
