Monster Beats By Dre Over-Ear Studio Headphones Review

These are the headphones everybody wants right now so I will do my best to give you an accurate and descriptive summary of their performance, quality, build and reliability.

These are professional quality headphones made by audio giant Monster in collaboration with Dr. Dre.

The headphones themselves will cost you around $350.00 brand new if you buy them directly from Monster. The first thing you see when you look at the box before opening it is a large picture of Dr. Dre and the beats themselves slickly depicted. You instantly get the feeling that this is a quality product.

Here is what you get inside the box!

The headphones themselves come with a 1/4 inch jack adapter for high quality audio performance, clearly aimed at people who appreciate sound. They also come with an airline adapter for use on planes. The headphones come with one black cable with a built in microphone for hands free devices such as iPhone and one regular high quality red cable.

The first thing that grabs you about the beats is quality of the carrying case they come in and the headphones themselves. They feel like a luxurious product and when you put them on they are extremely comfortable and stylish. The leather material on side is very soft and accommodating to your ears. The earcups themselves adjust their angle to you ears and head instead of you uncomfortably fighting with them to get your ears to conform with the headset, it's very subtle yet extremely effective. Of course the headphones themselves expand to your head size and fold easily for carrying.

These are not wireless headphones, they are powered by 2 triple A batteries which is a pet peeve of mine and in my opinion one of the down sides of the device. The compartment for which you place the batteries however is found discreetly inside the right earcup of the headphones and not visible until you slide and pop off the casing. The battery life is not as strong as I would of liked (something to keep in mind if you travel for long periods of time) They last about 5 1/2 hours.

Setting up the headphones is straight forward. You plug the cable into the 3.5 mm jack input and then the other side of the cable into the listening device of your choice. There's a built in power button which shows a red light when switched on, there is also a mute button built in which can be activated by pushing in the B on that side of the headphones. These are noise-canceling headphones which I was skeptical about to say the least but to my surprise these do a spectacular job and achieve that effortlessly. The noise canceling on these headphones is fantastic.

The audio that comes out of these headphones is very very good. You actually hear some of the nuances in music that you may never have heard before. Listening to acoustic guitar you can actually hear the fingers coming off of the strings and listening to live recordings you can actually hear the singer's breath. Many things you wouldn't hear with in ear headphones or may not of noticed all of a sudden become apparent with these headphones which is great because at this price you really want to make sure you are getting something worth your money!

They are very modern and slick looking with beats by dre appropriately written on top of the headphone bridge. Over all i've been very impressed by the headphones and have to admit that even though I came into this review skeptical because of their high price. If you value audio fidelity and want really fantastic noise canceling, which for me is hands down the biggest selling point of this product.

Summary

If you have the money and would like a quality pair of stylish headphones with noise canceling and superb sound get the Beats By Dre because you will be happy with their performance!
