I’m very satisfied with the performance of M305. Logitech M305 wireless mouse is suitable for daily use as well as travelling. Apart from M305 Logitech also produces Logitech Couch Mouse M515, Wireless Mouse M310, V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Bluetooth® , just to name a few.

Review of Logitech Wireless Mouse M305: a Reliable Mouse for Daily Use

Logitech was founded in 1981 in Switzerland. Logitech makes peripheral devices for PCs, including keyboards, mice, microphones, game controllers and webcams. Logitech also makes home and computer speakers, headphones, wireless audio devices, as well as audio devices for MP3 players and mobile phones.

As a world leader in mice, Logitech has made more than a billion mice. The one I’m writing about is a wireless mouse made by Logitech, given the full name, Logitech Wireless Mouse M305.

Packaging and the mouse:

The package is the size of a small book and easy to open. It contains a wireless mouse, a nano-receiver, an AA battery and a quick start guide.

The mouse is grey colour with black feature and the size is standard for a laptop mouse. It has a two-button design with a single scroll wheel in-between. However the palm rest is a little taller and more arched than most mice on the market.

Usage:

The quick start guide has 13 languages. However you don’t need to read it because the mouse is so easy to set up. You just turn on your laptop, put the battery into the mouse and switch the power on. Then plug the nano-receiver in a USB port. If your operating system is Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS X10.4 or later and Linux kernel 2.6+ it will work immediately.

Main features of Logitech M305:

1. High-definition optical tracking. It means you can use the mouse on most hard surfaces.

2. Advanced 2.4 GHz cursor control. Compared to conventional 2.4 GHz and 27 MHz wireless technologies the mouse is more responsive and smooth.

3. The nano-receiver is so small you just need to put it into the USB port and forget about it. But if you don’t use it for a long time you can remove the receiver and place it in a storage area, which is next to the battery on the mouse.

4. The mouse has auto off, On/Off buttons, and a battery indicator-light. When you aren’t using the mouse the auto off function will automatically put your mouse to sleep. You also can manually turn off your mouse. Battery led flashes when battery power is low. That said an AA battery can last for one year.

You can also download free software at Logitech website. The program called Setpoint provides advanced features for your mouse, which include programmable buttons, mouse movement control, game settings and battery level indicator.

Price and Availability:

In the UK you can buy Logitech Wireless Mouse M305 from many outlets including Sainsbury’s, Comet, Currys, Amazon just to name a few. You will find prices vary considerably. As a guide the current price is £19.99 at Currys.

My opinion:

I have been using M305 for two years and I would like to say I love this mouse. It’s solidly made and easily moved. It always works fast and accurately. Before I bought it I worried it might not work as well as a wired one, but I have not found any difference. On the contrary the wireless design gives me more convenience and freedom. Last but definitely not least I can use it for a long time and don’t feel tired. The only minor problem is the consumption of battery. In general I need to replace a battery every two months. It’s a little unconvinent to be honest.

All in all I’m very satisfied with the performance of M305. My opinion is the mouse is suitable for daily use as well as travelling. However its size is more appropriate for smaller hand sizes.

Apart from M305 Logitech also produces Logitech Couch Mouse M515, Wireless Mouse M310, V470 Cordless Laser Mouse for Bluetooth® , just to name a few. For more Logitech mouse products please visit Logitech official website.

Excellent product review. I have one of these devices that I use with my laptop. I love it and wouldn't go anywhere without it being in my laptop shoulder bag.

Only problem is one day it just stops working. Then even after updating software its a no go only after 5 months of use with my macbook pro.
