Daal is an essential part of Indian meal Most household cook daal on everyday basis but having the same daal every day could really get boring. So, once in a while, it would be a great idea to try out something different for a change.

Tur Daal 1 Cup
Cumin seeds ¼ Spoon
Asafoetida ¼ spoon
Oil 2 table spoons
Salt 1 ½ tea spoons
Green chillies 3 (slit)
Grated coconut 2 table spoons
Onion ¼ diced
Mustard seeds ½ tea spoon
Tamarind pulp 2 tea spoons
Sugar ¼ spoon

Wash the Daal properly and add 2 ½ cups of water, asafoetida, cumin seeds and a tea spoon of oil and pressure cook for 2 minutes. While the daal is cooking, make a paste of coconut and onion.

Open the pressure cooker once it is cool and blend the daal with egg beater, add two cups of water, salt, green chillies, coconut and onion paste and let the mixture boil until the green chillies are cooked.

Take a pan and heat 1 ½ table spoon oil, add mustard seeds and let it crack, add asafoetida and pour the daal into the pan. Add sugar and tamarind pulp. Take the pan off the fire and garnish with coriander leaves while serving.
