I always say when you are stuck for something to write, just write, so many times I have sat at the laptop and started typing out what I was thinking at that very moment, and before I knew it, I had a story

So I took another slug of Coke

I was sitting pondering on my next Wikinut subject and my mind was blank, I was really in a state of writers block, I usually have a coffee with me when I am writing but this morning I had a change with a can of coke, after all that had caffeine in it as well, maybe not quite as much as coffee but enough to keep me awake for a while.

Make somebody Happy

As I took a slug of coke I remembered that song the coke people are using in a TV commercial at the moment

It is Jimmy Durante singing "Make somebody happy" now I suppose a lot of you have never heard of Jimmy Durante, he was a comedian, actor, singer and a jazzy Pianist.

Well known for his gravelly voice and big nose, in fact his nickname was Schnozzola Durante, Schnozzola is from schnoz the Yiddish word for nose.

He made many films including

  • The Man Who Came to Dinner (1942)
  • Ziegfeld Follies (1945)
  • It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)
  • Frosty the Snowman (1969)

So back to me wondering what to write about, I still have no idea what to write about, and so I took another swig of coke and continued to ponder I am sure something will come to me soon

This production would not be possible without the help of these files,_Mad,_Mad,_Mad_World_Trailer22.jpg

Did you know?

Coke was first originally intended as a medicine, it was invented in the late 19th century by John Pemberton, over 200 countries sell coke and more than 1.8 billion cups are drunk every day

Contrary to the popular myth, we don't all have a novel in us, but most of us have a story waiting to be written, now is your chance to tell us and the world your story.

Or maybe you are a bit of a poet and would like to see your poems on the web, we will publish anything that does not break the rules for FREE and pay you as well.

So how about it, Start here

You still wrote something. That is great! I guess the coke helped.

I find it hard to believe that coke which is now believed to cause illness when over/misused was intended as medicine.

Well, I never have writer's block because I have 5000 books here in my house, just waiting to be reviewed.

If I don't know what else to write I review one of these.

Reading something controversial of which I do not agree with usually stimulates me to write a rebuttal about it too, or to give my own thinking on the subject.

A cute article Johnny. I have a poem I wrote a few years ago about writers block and think I will post it here. I think everyone needs a cup of coffee before doing anything in the morning. Our brains need that kick start. I guess a drink of coke will give you that rush also.. I enjoyed your article. Don't worry, writer's block never lasts too long.

My writing depends mostly on my moods and hence vary in their feelings and depth. Writer's block very rarely - siva
