Game or better known as video games are the words that are still largely “taboo” in Indonesian society. Because it is by playing the game itself could be have the negative consequences for children. But we cannot assume that all games could be having a bad impact, because the game can also hone the creativity and intelligence of child.

Beginning of Video Game

Write a single game in the history of the first product that can achieve the hit is the arcade game "Pong" produced by "Atari" (US) in 1972. With the development of the game world at that time, the company born in Japan ended the first game of "Taito" in 1973, Taito product is the famous "Space Invaders" is to create a social phenomenon in Japanese society. With this, the game world for the first time recognized as a force large businesses.

After that comes the first "Potabel" game known as "Game Watch", produced by Nintendo in 1980. With booming all over the world watch the game, the Nintendo game development its console - further enhance the fruitful end with the birth of "Family Computer" or outside of Japan known as "NES" (Nintendo Entertainment System) in 1983.

Family Computer

"Famicon" (brevity for Family Computer) and or NES was the first console video games that can be played on a TV screen. Among the existing games on the NES, "Super Mario Bros" is the most of famous game and most popular, even today. In Indonesia, the NES also entered and became a boom in the era of the 1990s.

With this presence of NES was still 8-bit Graphics of display, so then it was launching for a new genre of game called an "RPG" (Role Playing Game) with the first its game is the most popular "Dragon Quest" or more with the name "Dragon Warrior" outside of Japan. Then Square with "Final Fantasy". After that was came a portable gaming device "Game Boy" produced by Nintendo in 1989, this game was most popular too.

The "NES" and The "SNES"

Also in that era, emerged the latest generation of the "NES", that is the "SNES" (Super Nintendo Entertainment System) or better known as the "Super Family Computer" (Sufami) in Japan. SNES comes with 16-bit graphics of display that most of the hardware is made by Sony. With better graphics began popping 3D games, such as Donkey Kong Country, and etc. With revenues from the manufacture of hardware, Sony starts manufacturing "PlayStation" project which is still based on the hardware of the SNES.

The Project of Nintendo and PlayStation

While Nintendo began to feel that the project would harm their PlayStation, eventually they break the contract with Sony and start cooperation with Silicon Graphics and so it was launch a new gaming console of 64-bit graphics with the name "Nintendo64". At that time Sony started to loss factors and eventually stopped the PlayStation Project. But Sony was not standing still, not long after the Project PlayStation revived. And then starting in early 70’s to late 80s gaming world dominated by Nintendo.

Dominance was not long lasting, since the early 90s began to appear gaming companies with high potential, which eventually became the rival of Nintendo's future. In the era dubbed the "Age of War Game Console".
