The most unusual food experiences of the UK

What’s so great about eating out? Well, everything! No cooking, no cleaning. Just endless hours chatting over scrumptious, tasty food. However, if you are already bored of eating out every weekend and if you are looking for a break, then these five restaurants should catch your fancy.

These are not just the most unusual of the lot. These are also the best rated among the “unusual restaurants near me now” lists in the UK.

Dans Le Noir

You have never experienced anything like it before. Unless you have been stuck in the freezer with all lights out! At Dans Le Noir, your waiters will be blind, and you will be served in complete darkness. Keep your knives sharp and your senses sharper, your fellow diner may just try to take a bite off your steak in the dark. The prices vary from £25 to £98. The best way to embrace the darkness and the gifts it bears is to go for the surprise menu. Nothing like tingling your palate in the dark!

Death Row Dive and Diner, Liverpool

The Death Row Dive and Diner creates a feeling of dread that any man would feel before his last meal. It is not every day that we get to decide what we want as our last meal. This restaurant serves almost everything under the sun. The minimalist interiors with the stark red lights make this diner a truly unique experience on a budget.

The Clink, Cardiff

This is a different kind of restaurant where real life prisoners get a second chance at building a life and career. The Clink has one of the best-maintained and organized kitchens we have seen. The chefs pull 40 hours per week shifts. This is a must visit for everyone in Cardiff.

Malmaison Hotel, Oxford

The MalmaisonHotel is a royal affair. It is one of the most luxurious and unusual hotels of the world. It is a reinstated prison that was a medieval castle. This theme is quite rustic yet aristocratic. All the rooms are still themed after prison cells. It serves MalBurger and juicy steaks. The minimal yet tasty menu makes it a prison you would never want to escape from.

The Attendant Café, London

This is one of the most fantastic restaurants of the world themed as a Victorian men's public toilet. This rather fancy café features original Doulton & Co porcelain urinals from the 1890s. These now serve individual booths for customers. The green seating and the authentic Victorian floor tiles complete the interiors.

The five restaurants and cafes from around the UK serve up some of the tastiest local and gourmet cuisines. So do not be put off by the new experiences. The rather quirky presentation and dining experience add a new sense of wonder to the familiar flavors.
