These ten timeless songs changed my life forever. Music has always been an important part of my life.

Great Music

1. “Don’t Look Any Further” by Dennis Edwards featuring Siedah Garrett is my all-time favorite song. I was three years old when I first I heard this song, and I instantly fell in love with it. Listening to this reggae-tinged track is so enjoyable and smooth.

2. “Everybody Wants to Rule the World” by Tears for Fears is another ‘80s classic. I love this song! It is such a great song and it captures the exciting and crazy times of the 1980s.

3. “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart never fails to make me feel good. The song never gets old.

4. “In My Time” by the late great Teddy Pendergrass is a beautiful song. The lyrics are heartfelt and inspiring. I get so emotional every time I hear this classic song.

5. “Greatest Love Of All” by Whitney Houston is one of the most amazing and powerful songs ever! I sang this song in my Head Start preschool graduation, and I remember feeling so good. “Greatest Love Of All” really touches the soul.

6. “Giving You The Best That I Got” by Anita Baker is such a soulful song. Anita Baker is my favorite female singer of all-time, and I love her voice. She is definitely a true gift to the genre of music.

7. “Sexual Healing” by the late great Marvin Gaye is one of the greatest love songs ever. My family always groove to this song at family reunions at cookouts.

8. “Human Nature” by the great Michael Jackson is such an amazing song. I never get bored listening to this classic tune.

9. “In The Air Tonight” by Phil Collins is one of the best songs in history. I love the mood and the sound of the song. It was featured in the pilot episode of my favorite cop show, Miami Vice.

10. “My Way” by the late Frank Sinatra is the anthem for all people. Everybody wants to do things their own way. I love the melody and the theme of the song. “My Way” is inspiring, and such a great song!

I'm sorry to say that I have heard only one of these (number 10) and only heard of a further two (7 and 9). As to the artists, numbers 1, 4 and 6 mean nothing at all to me.

It just goes to show either how out of touch I am with modern culture, or that one can live a perfectly satisfying life in a state of almost complete ignorance of such matters!
