where's everybody?

After 33 pages, this Wikinut still considers herself still struggling to be the real thing. Lately, however, I notice a certain quietness or slowness in the site. Or is it just me?

members busy elsewhere?

Is it because Wikinut members are busy elsewhere? Or are they having some sort of vacation? For the past few days, I see no comments coming in, nothing.

Is it just me?

Or is this observation only an isolated case? Perhaps I have not been active enough to elicit responses or comments from other members. Can anyone please give tips on how one should use this site to the fullest? What I am presently doing the moment I am logged in is to read the comments and check if I have new followers. When I see a new follower, I try to check out his or her profile and read one or two of his/her pages. Then, I try to think long and hard if I have anything to write about. If I get lucky, I may add another page because I like to see myself moving forward in the community. After doing this, I log out. Why? What else do we need to do here? I know that we need to read other members' articles, yes, I do that too but not the rest of the time because there are topics that are way too technical for me.

is it the format or layout of the site?

Or could it be the format or how the site is laid out? Members can't actually see the hot topics of the day without clicking the photos of authors which are featured on the right side of the page. If the featured topics are listed on the homepage, I am sure that many members would be able to remember to read and comment on other Wikinuts' pages.

My writing will be about life in general. I'd been a teacher before I shifted to being a self-employed person. I happen to have several interests, like I'm a dog-lover, I love to dance and sing too.

For some of us like me is looking for means to earn money. I found another site that is taking some time and actually making something on it. I still check on here to see how my pages are doing. Right now I am unable to write pages from the computer that I am on but I can actually make comments from it. But I still enjoy wikinut though. I just wish they would pay a little better that is all.

I am new around here, but I try to comment as much as I can. Being a student and an employee and a wife and so much more I sometimes forget that reading is as important to me as I know it to be.

I'm having the opposite effect. With more than 100 published articles here now, I'm beginning to see rewards in daily views and earnings. I think you just have to be patient and watch what is happening. No online site enables you to make money quickly.

Really Val? Or do you need to have star status to be able to make money?

Some people are rich enough to write for Wikinut for recognition and enjoyment, even with no pay.

Other things being equal, we'll have to admit that MOST people write with the expectation to make both ends meet, to be paid.

So let's make a distinction here between people who write for the enjoyment alone and the people who write to survive, or the ad that drawn them to this site was just an empty promise or a RUSE.
